Rare and highly localised in the Lowestoft area, this wintering Nuthatch suggests this sedentary species still persists as a local breeding species.

Hadn't realised just how close the American Yellow Warbler is to the site of the legendary Golden-winged Warbler we saw in the Tesco car park back in Feb 1989! (boc shot grabbed from the gent next to me, thanks 🙂) @BirdGuides

"Revealed: Thames Water diverted ‘cash for clean-ups’ to help pay bonuses." In 2023 @Thameswater underspent their environmental obligation to the @EnvAgency by £1.1bn. Now we know why. They used some if not all of that money for other company costs including bonuses and dividends. That £1.1bn formed part of the WINEP programme, a legally binding commitment to the @EnvAgency to deliver a certain number of clean up projects by 2025. Is anyone from TW going to be prosecuted for breaking the law? theguardian.com/business/202

We haven’t lost *half of our hedgerows* since the 1940s, we’ve lost pretty much all. With the odd exception, the ‘hedgerows’ that remain are machine-flailed to lifelessness, leaving them useless for wildlife. No width or depth, no cover, no spring blossom, no berries, nada.

Finnish Peregrine, St Bartholomew's church, Corton, Oct 2024. Born near Oulu in June, some 1,200 miles to the north-east. The 15thC tower was built particularly high to aid navigation for mariners...and falcons. “When you get to Corton, the way begin to shorten.” @PeterJRansome

This Dovekie very nearly suffered groyne strain during the recent northeaster. Stuck in the swell of the sea defences, it finally powered back out to sea when a large wave lifted it clear 🌊 #LittleAuk
