Georgia's been the #1 State for Business for 12 years running. That's not just a reputation — it's something that requires dedicated collaborative work, all the time. Part of that work is behind the scenes, making sure Georgia has the legal infrastructure businesses can count on when things go wrong. HB 1185, sponsored by Majority Leader Chuck Efstration and Senate Floor Leader Thomas "Bo" Hatchett and signed today by Governor Brian Kemp, does exactly that. The bill streamlines access to Georgia's Statewide Business Court — a specialized court with judges who actually understand how businesses work — strengthens Georgia's corporate code and adds commonsense protections against bad-faith litigation. The bottom line: disputes resolved faster, at lower cost, with more expertise. That's good for companies already here, and a strong signal to those deciding where to grow next. Thank you to @GovKemp, Majority Leader @ChuckEfstration, Floor Leader Hatchett and the Georgia General Assembly on this win for our business community. 🏛️

For four years in a row, we have lowered the tax burden on hardworking Georgians, and I was proud to do so yet again this morning! Today, I signed legislation to cut the state income tax rate, deliver meaningful property tax relief, and promote opportunity for all Georgians. gov.georgia.gov/press-releas…

To keep Georgia the best place to live, work, raise a family, and create good-paying jobs, we’re making sure our state’s growth helps drive down energy costs and strengthen reliability.
Good news for Georgia families and businesses! We’ve reached an agreement with the Public Interest Advocacy (PIA) Staff of the Georgia Public Service Commission (PSC) that—if approved—will help lower energy costs—all while meeting growing electricity demand across the state. The stipulated agreement: ✅ Marks a key milestone in the certification proceeding for approximately 9,900 MW of new resources. ✅ Allows us to move forward with diverse, cost-effective resources, most secured through competitive bidding. ✅ Notes that, when we file our next base rate case in 2028, we will do so in a manner that ensures incremental revenue from large-load customers of at least $556 million per year will put downward pressure on rates of at least $8.50 per month (or approximately $102 per year) for the typical residential customer using 1,000 kilowatt-hours per month. A big expansion in metro Atlanta! ☁️💼 We’re excited to share that @salesforce is investing $15 million to grow its Atlanta presence, creating 262 new jobs right here in Fulton County. “Metro Atlanta is a place where innovative companies thrive, and Salesforce’s expansion is a strong reflection of that," said Kristi Brigman, Chief Economic Development Officer at the Metro Atlanta Chamber. "Our region’s talent, connectivity, and collaborative mindset make growth like this possible. Congratulations to Salesforce on this milestone and the continued growth of their Atlanta team — we look forward to supporting them in the years ahead.” As Salesforce continues to build the future of cloud technology in the heart of the South, this expansion reinforces Atlanta’s position as a top destination for tech innovation and talent.

For 12 straight years, Georgia has been voted the "Top State for Business!" While we've earned this ranking for over a decade, it's by no means guaranteed. It is a reflection of the sustained commitment we have to excellence and a team approach to economic development!

Setting another record for economic growth 📈 Governor @BrianKempGA announced that in Fiscal Year 2025, Georgia set a record for economic investment, with the state supporting 423 new locations and expansions, representing $26.3 billion in investment, and 23,200 new private-sector jobs. Georgia’s collaborative approach to economic development keeps our state, and Metro Atlanta, the #1 place to do business, year after year. We congratulate the State of Georgia, the Georgia Department of Economic Development (@gdecd) and all partners that helped make this achievement possible.
