Fabry disease is a lysosomal storage disorder caused by a defect in glycosphingolipid degradation. Fabry disease causes concentric LVH with diastolic dysfunction and conduction disease — think “storage cardiomyopathy,” not sarcomeric HCM. CMR: Low native T1 LVH = Fabry until proven otherwise

Mouth ulcers in children? It could be Herpetic Gingivostomatitis. This common viral infection, often caused by HSV-1, typically presents with fever, swollen gums, and painful ulcers inside the mouth and on the lips. It mostly affects toddlers and young children and may cause poor feeding and irritability. Early recognition can ease discomfort and reduce complications. 🩺 Want to learn how to recognize, treat, and prevent this and many other infections in children? 📘 Check out Common Childhood Infections by Dr. Ghassan Hamdan — written in clear, simple language for clinicians, caregivers, and parents alike. barnesandnoble.com/w/common-…
