This is the first conviction using the misogyny as hate crime framework - what he did was already a crime but now he will get a more serious sentence for having targeted this woman. Since Thames Water is once again staring down a gun barrel, the £3 billion bailout it had runs out later this year, I thought it might be timely to remind us all of the “Economically illiterate”, cost govt comes up with to renationalise the water industry, you remember the £100 billion. It is of course made up nonsense produced by a think tank in a report which was bought and paid for my United Utilities, Anglian Water, Severn Trent Water and South West Water. By their calculations it would now cost £26,659,419,800 to nationalise Thames Water. 🤣🤣🤣 What a joke.

South East Water left thousands of homes in Kent without access to water on the hottest days of the year so far. Yet another shocking example of the failure of privatisation. Given the scale of the crisis in the water sector, a purely regulatory approach is like putting a complaints box on the Titanic. Public ownership is the only real solution, as I told the Water Minister in parliament yesterday.
