Does it seem like in the government/political world that problems like fraud and corruption can easily be identified but nothing is done about it and no one is ever prosecuted? Is this just one big shell game?

Pennsylvania Congressman Rob Bresnahan was elected in 2024. “During his campaign, the only thing he campaigned on was banning members of Congress from being able to sell and trade stocks.”
He’s already made 626 active trades since being elected. He even insider-traded right before the Big Beautiful Bill passed, selling $15,000 worth of stock that were about to be impacted by the bill and drop in price. Right after he did, the stock plummeted 43%.

A father passing by his son's bedroom noticed the room unusually clean and saw an envelope propped up prominently on the pillow. It was addressed, "Dad"...
With the worst premonition, he opened the envelope and read the letter, with trembling hands.
"Dear, Dad. It is with great regret and sorrow that I'm writing you. I had to elope with my new girlfriend, because I wanted to avoid a scene with Mum and you.
I've been finding real passion with Stacy.
She is so nice, but I knew you would not approve of her because of all her piercing's, tattoos, her tight motorcycle clothes, and because she is so much older than I am.
But it's not only the passion, Dad. She's pregnant.
Stacy said that we will be very happy.
She owns a trailer in the woods, and has a stack of firewood for the whole winter.
We share a dream of having many more children.
Stacy has opened my eyes to the fact that these things don't really hurt anyone.
Don't worry Dad, I'm 16, and I know how to take care of myself.

I’m curious why the national media is so against covering @timburchett and @DOGE eliminating all of the wasteful spending. Is it possibly because they are equally as guilty? Why do they need field reporters on the streets of NYC reporting about a wildfire in Utah? Cronkite was able to report this on his own. Do they need 5 football players to give us information about the upcoming games? If @elonmusk can shrink X staff then why can’t the government and the media. Let’s end the wasteful spending and get back to reality.
