New paper by our #GP registrar Dr Jun Jung in @sexualhealthj shows that low proportion of gonorrhoea cases prescribed recommended antibiotics and retested within recommended time frames in primary care settings.

🎓Congratulations to Dr Phuc (Julien) Tran @JulTra87 on his #PhD conferral yesterday. His thesis examined #gonorrhoea transmission & #syphilis prevention in #MSM. He had 23 publications during his PhD. We are incredibly proud and wish him all the best for the future!
New paper by our #PhD candidate @SallyY_Zhang in @eClinicalMed shows that discrete choice experiments are valuable for capturing health-related preferences and possess reasonable external validity to predict health-related behaviours.

🏆Congratulations to @EricPFChow@MSHCResearch@AlfredHealth and @Monash_FMNHS, who's been honoured by the #HealthServicesResearch community for "significant and lasting contributions" to improve the treatment, prevention and control of sexually transmitted infections.
Eric is an internationally recognised mid-career epidemiologist with expertise in #HIV, #STIs, #PublicHealth and health services efficiency.
As the world's second-most active author on STIs, this year Eric was awarded the @science_academy Gottschalk medal, and named the top researcher in Sex & Sexuality by the @australian. He's made the Stanford University List of World Top 2% Scientists (2020–2024)

ALT Professor Eric Chow heads the Health Data Management and Biostatistics Unit and coheads the HIV/STI Clinical Trial Unit at the Melbourne Sexual Health Centre, Alfred Health. He is also an NHMRC Emerging Leadership Fellow at the School of Translational Medicine, Monash University. Eric holds four master’s degrees in Applied Science (Bioinformatics), Public Health, Biostatistics, and Clinical Epidemiology, demonstrating his multidisciplinary expertise.
Eric is an internationally recognised mid-career epidemiologist with expertise in HIV, sexually transmitted infections, public health and health services efficiency. He has >400 peer-reviewed publications in sexually transmitted infections and sexual health services. His work has been cited >11800 times with an h-index of 56 (Google Scholar, December 2024).
