ALT How do you include consumers throughout the research cycle? Come along to this special pre-research week session to gain valuable tips and insights from a consumer who has been involved in the research cycle. It's led by Dr. Shyamsundar (Shyam) Muthuramalingam, a kidney transplant recipient and PhD graduate whose lived experience of dialysis shapes his advocacy for consumer involvement across the research cycle. With expertise in navigating policy frameworks, guidelines and accreditation standards, Shyam represents the community on the Australian Medical Council and the NHMRC-MRFF Consumer and Community Advisory Group, and co-facilitates Praxis Australia’s Enhancing Consumer and Community Engagement in Clinical Trials workshops. He's worked with ANZDATA, SAHMRI, The George Institute, and Kidney Health Australia, and leads The Network of 120 kidney patients to challenge myths and strengthen collaboration in clinical research and trials.
