Maharashtra State Innovation Society (MSInS) was delighted to be a part of Industry Academia Conclave 2026 organised by MIT World Peace University, Pune
Dr. Shrikant Patil, CEO, MSInS, attended the conclave as the Chief Guest, where he engaged with students, industry leaders, and academicians on the importance of strengthening industry–academia collaboration to drive meaningful impact for society and the economy.
In his address, Dr. Patil highlighted emerging opportunities in rural entrepreneurship and health-tech innovation, while emphasizing the need to build inclusive, future-ready ecosystems. He shared the Government of Maharashtra’s vision of developing a world-class Innovation City in Navi Mumbai, along with efforts to strengthen regional innovation hubs and enable micro-incubators across Tier-2 cities to expand access to entrepreneurship.
He also spoke about key initiatives such as the BIRSA scheme, which focuses on empowering tribal communities through grassroots innovation and entrepreneurship. Reflecting on global economic shifts, he underscored the growing importance of sectors like rare earth elements and encouraged innovators to explore opportunities in this strategic space.
Dr. Patil also inaugurated the AWaDH Cyber-Physical Systems Lab at MIT-WPU, a collaborative initiative with IIT Ropar under the DST NM-ICPS mission, appreciating it as a significant step toward advancing deep-tech innovation in agriculture and water technologies.
He further appreciated MIT-WPU for creating a unique ecosystem that blends spirituality, education, and innovation to nurture future-ready talent.
