Make yourself useful. Solve people’s problems. Put yourself in a position that is vital to your organization’s goals. Take joy in the effort. Become fascinated with getting better. If it’s not fun, rearrange things to add fun. Be curious. If you’re a leader, create more leaders.

I now want all real estate listings to look like this
Так даже лучше Риелтор из Японии не разобралась, как убрать её напарника в хромакее из видео, и выставила его как есть. В результате ролик набрал 810 000 просмотров за сутки, хотя предыдущие видео собирали максимум несколько тысяч.

Hello Stargate universe! I truly enjoyed my time as part of the Stargate Atlantis family. “ Colonel Marshall Sumner”. Many of the cast are still in my life to this day. That’s rare. This community is rare. #SaveStargate LFG!!!!!

professionally, I feel obligated to say that you should not do this… but this was pretty amazingly philly and I laughed
So a 76ers fan, hated the Knicks so much, that he put on a Rodman Spurs jersey just to engage in physical combat with Knicks fans. This is legendary

This post got quite a reaction. So here’s a sobering reality of being an actor. About a year later I had to take a job at Blockbuster and I was stocking this movie on the shelves. Literally organizing DVD boxes with my face on them.
I got fired from my movie theatre usher job because I skipped a shift to go to an audition. I booked one of the leading roles in a movie that then played at the theatre that fired me. I do not recommend this strategy.

adults do this too a key tool for food gleaners is repeatedly telling a group a positive story about themselves and their identity which they then try to live up to and its not manipulative (and it’s far more effective) if the story is true
The most manipulative but effective thing I’ve ever done in my life was when I read an article about how children moderate their behavior to protect their self-identity, so if a child believes he’s smart, for example, he’ll intentionally study and try to do well to protect his image of himself. Anyway, I would pull kids aside with behavioral issues at church and tell them, “David (obviously fake name), you’re such a kind person and such a good listener. I can see that in you. Thank you for always listening.” “Little Annie, thank you for taking such good care of the babies around you. You’re going to be such a good big sister. Can you be in charge of watching Sally?” They would ALWAYS behave afterward. ALWAYS. Worked like a charm. Morally questionable because it wasn’t initially true, but I kind of willed it into existence. Tbf, I did think that they had that in them or I wouldn’t have tried. Will publish longitudinal results of this method once my kid is old enough to report back.

How many times do I have to tell you... STOP BUILDING REPLICATORS!!!
Researchers at Columbia University have developed modular robots that can adapt, repair, and even rebuild themselves using a concept called robot metabolism. 🤖 Instead of remaining fixed, these robots can detach, reconnect, and reorganize their own structure based on the task or environment. If one part is damaged, the system can replace or rearrange itself rather than stopping completely. This could reshape the future of disaster response, industrial automation, and even space exploration. The idea of robots that evolve instead of wear out is becoming more than science fiction. What real-world application do you think will benefit most from this technology? 🎥 Media: @Columbia ⚠️ This content is shared for informational purposes only. When the Kyiv Lavra was built, Moscow was just a meadow in the forest.
I just watched priests trying to save crucifixes from a burning monastery. This is what russia is destroying. The Kyiv Lavra is one of the holiest Orthodox sites on earth. A UNESCO World Heritage site. Moscow calls itself “Christian civilisation.” It’s literally barbarism.

my attention span has gotten worse, lately, but if I'm being honest, it's never been consistent in conversations I have always felt a timer ticking away in my head that says, "find an exit soon!" for no reason I can fathom but now I feel that ticking when reading. why?

I literally broke away to write this tweet in the middle of reading the latest article on @visakanv 's substack. it's actually a really good article. I'm returning to it now. hopefully tossing this tweet into the void will dispel the ticker long enough to better appreciate it

I cannot believe what I’m witnessing in Kyiv tonight. Priests at the Kyiv Lavra one of the holiest Christian sites in Europe are rushing to save crucifixes, icons and sacred artefacts while Russia attacks the city. This is what Moscow’s “Christian values” look like.

Around 20 ballistic and Zircon missiles were launched already. The targets are people’s homes and churches. The attack is still ongoing. This is one of the most famous churches in Kyiv — Kyiv Pechersk Lavra. Russia tried to make it its own and even looted it. When that failed, they decided to burn it down.

this is indeed art
The local city council's meeting agenda is distributed on their website not in plain text, or an image, but an Excel file. A bit weird, but fine, right? Then if you download the .xlsx, you discover that cell C3 has a pdf containing the agenda embedded.

was looking for references to the fairly well-known Biblical quote, "well done, good and faithful servant" Google's AI took it as a compliment
