Spinal cord injury can affect women at any age, from birth to old age, and they will experience the same women’s health issues as non-disabled women but these may be experienced slightly differently depending on the degree and level of injury.

A legal challenge has been issued against the Government’s SEND reform consultation. The challenge highlights concerns about proposed changes to EHC plans, limits on access to and enforceability of specialist provision, and significant changes to the powers of the SEND Tribunal and rights of appeal - which are all concerns we share at IPSEA.
We will be following the progress of this legal challenge very closely, given the significance of the proposals currently being consulted on and the impact these would have on the legal rights of children and young people with SEND.

Here’s an idea, in order to “best provide for a child’s complex needs” why not continue to give them their legal rights, which protects the individualised provision the individual child’s needs require, as set out in their legally protected EHCP. Wild suggestion I know.
