Our CytoSignal paper is now published in @NatureGenet! During revision, we generated a one-of-a-kind dataset with direct measurements of ligand-receptor protein interactions in situ in the mouse embryo, along with Visium HD spatial transcriptomics. nature.com/articles/s41588-0…

Paging all those folks who are "worried" about US biotech.
Sean Eddy developed profile HMMs in the 1990s, ultimately leading to his HMMER project, which includes JackHMMER that AlphaFold relies on. Apparently his work has been determined to be "of absolutely no value to the US taxpayer". Obviously that's not true. npr.org/2026/05/21/nx-s1-582…

Single somatic plant cells have the remarkable potential to dedifferentiate and regenerate entirely new plants. However, the cell states and regulatory dynamics enabling dedifferentiation competence had not been fully explored... dun dun dun ⬇️ (1/12) biorxiv.org/content/10.64898…

Despite finding a conserved, early onset dedifferentiation program, cell fate transitions and transcriptional divergence are highly heterogeneous, even when initiated from the same cell! What promotes this diversity in reprogramming remains to be discovered.

This work would not have been possible without the fantastic effort of all authors. Huge thank you to the Bargmann lab for an awesome collaboration and our funding sources at NIH, NSF, and the USDA. We welcome any suggestions to improve the manuscript.
