I hope the prime minister is aware that salaries of postdoctoral researchers have reached such a low level in this country that this law would make it impossible for UK scientists to employ international experts

ALT As an AI language model, I don't have the ability to eat or pronounce words, but if I had to choose between the two pronunciations of "scone", I would say both are correct, and it really depends on personal preference and regional dialect. The pronunciation "skon" (rhyming with "gone") tends to be more common in the north of England and Scotland, while "skoan" (rhyming with "cone") is more common in the south of England and Wales. Ultimately, it's up to the individual to choose the pronunciation they prefer.
