Superb!
In 2010, Sandra Bullock pulled off one of strangest back-to-back achievements. She accepted the Razzie for Worst Actress for ALL ABOUT STEVE, then the very next day won the Oscar for Best Actress for THE BLIND SIDE. She showed up to accept both awards.

All I keep seeing on my timeline is English and Americans arguing. Just to clarify a few things… 1 - America is a great place to visit, it has almost everything. 2 - Americans are friendly, some of the nicest people you’ll meet. 3 - Not all Americans are fat, it’s a myth. Go to Miami and you’ll see hardly any! 4 - Americans aren’t rude, they can be abrupt at times but rarely rude. 5 - The stadiums are incredible there but we in Europe prefer more raw, less flat pack types of stadiums. Both can be impressive! 6 - USA have a half decent team and a solid manager, it’s better for the tournament if they progress but as soon as they come up against an elite side I do expect them to falter. My main point is this…. The angry tribe on X is not the average American who tend to be warm, engaging and have a like for the English. Don’t fall into the hatred of social media. Just enjoy the World Cup if you can. #worldcup #england #USA_Paraguay

I must confess to being a bit emotional this morning at the news of a knighthood for Kevin Sinfield. I’ve always called him ‘Sir Kev’ and it’s hard to think of a man more deserving. He showed us all what it is to be a friend. What it means to step up when people need you and he did it all for his mate ❤️ After he carried Rob across the line in the Leeds marathon someone sent me this poem anonymously and I kept it on my phone. They called it ‘Arise Sir Kev’… When shadows gathered, and hearts would break Kev knew it was time to take… One step, another, through wind and rain, Carrying hope, despite the pain. He never stopped, mile after mile, Driven by loyalty, strength… a smile. For Rob, his friend, he aim was true Showing us all, what friendship can do. Not measured in trophies, applause, or fame… But turning up, again and again. And in every mile he chose to run, He showed us how friendship is truly done.

Group C - Brazil 🇧🇷 (10/48) We’d never had a Brazilian player represent us until Leo Bonatini set the standard in 2019…🫣 Since then, 14 others have arrived on Trentside 💃 One of our favourites though is current Brazil international, Danilo 🔫 Here is his goal from the 22/23 season against Southampton with the iconic comms from @Seb_Hutch 🎙️ Would you like to see him return this summer? 🤔 #NFFC 🔴⏪

Everyone except fans of the Sky 6 should be welcoming this stance by Marinakis. Shows that the rest of the league no longer needs to be bullied into selling them our best players on the cheap. #nffc

Iraqi footballer Aymen Hussein issued a statement after being detained and questioned for seven hours upon entering the United States: “If America is so hostile towards foreign nationals, why is it hosting the #2026WorldCup?”

After the referee blew the whistle to call the game off, players from both Denmark and Ukraine came together in a moment of collective solidarity with Christian Eriksen.

Official statement by DBU (Danish FA): Christian Eriksen is conscious and is doing well under the circumstances. The match has been called off. Incredibly scary stuff, so glad he’s ok.

It’s 29 years to the day since Stuart Pearce nearly cut Roberto Di Matteo in half with this crunching tackle at Le Tournoi. Psycho = Absolutely no-nonsense.

Terry Butcher was an iconic England captain, the blood-soaked tough guy who never took a backward step. He was also a father. In 2017, he found his son Christopher, a former soldier, dead in his bedroom. He had been suffering from PTSD after tours of Iraq and Afghanistan. Now, Terry is ready to talk — about grief, hope and the child he still bids good night. @DTathletic 🔗 nyti.ms/4xallup

This is why you shouldn't support English teams in the Champions League. Turns them into a behemoth and massively widens the gap between the Big 5 and everyone else.
Arsenal making the news: special focus on BBC R4 Today programme this morning.  Making new fans: sea of red around the Emirates and surrounding streets and also railway terminals, 1000s headed from E Midlands/North to KGX, signalling support from all over; downside of parade, 16 arrests, fire in a hotel reportedly caused by a flare, damaged tree, tons of litter requiring major clear-up op, especially Highbury Corner. Just stepped my way through it.   Making money: £120m-£130m from Champions League run depending on TV cut; £170m from Premier League; additional commercial strength in bonuses, shirt sales, tours; qualification for £90m 2029 Club World Cup, although it drains players. Making plans: to extend Mikel Arteta’s contract which currently expires 2027; possibly expanding stadium; strengthen team, as opposed to squad, with 2/3 elite talents (C-F, LW - Rogers?); and move on certain players for squad balance, PSR and game-time for them (Martinelli, Jesus, Norgaard). Wages will inevitably increase, bonuses due, some contract renewals required (Timber and a better deal for key player Rice). Must consider making Rice captain. Club love Odegaard. Represents club well. But Rice is the real leader, the true force on the field.  Making sure fans continue to feel respected. Arsenal work well with fans (coach meet, tifos) and CEO Richard Garlick is respected by fans. Recent ticket increase a concern. Money generated from increase modest compared to money spent on agents. Arsenal do many things right (community/foundation) - and doing the right thing by fans will simply make the club even stronger. #AFC

I don’t know how Tuchel can honestly look at Saka, Eze or Madueke over the last few months and think that any of them are going to have more of an impact this summer than Gibbs-White or Bowen would have. Baffling.
