As Kenyans we need to value the products of our education system. Let us utilize our young people.

Lawyer Danston Omari argued that Erick Omondi has political ambitions and he was therefore offloading jerricans at Kimathi Street in the spirit of charity towards his potential voters who are now suffering from lack of water. He added that save for the rich people, it is general knowledge that jerricans are used for water. Mind you, he said that with a very serious face without flinching nor faltering😂😂 Even other liers, sorry, lawyers, couldn't contain their laughter😂😂
Lawyer Omari says Eric Omondi’s 120 Jerricans Were Intended to Help Voters Fetch Water

Dear, @KenyaPower_Care @KenyaPower I hope this finds you less confused than your staff. How do you disconnect power for someone who has already paid? Asking for my meter number 25287798 Your guys came with a printed list of meters to disconnect like it's 1970. How about you updgrade to a smartphone that can show payment status in real time. Or is that too futuristic for you lot🤷🏽‍♂️ Also your staff sneaked into our compound like a 🥷. We don't know if they took the cut-off fuse or whether it was stolen. But friends tell me this is a known scrip. Remove fuse, wait for follow-ups, then demand "lunch". I want you to know huku ni Meru na kwetu atakula panga. If they actually took it, how do they do such thing without informing the owners? I've called the Meru office more than thrice today. All they ask for is my contact and meter number with empty promises of fixing. For a company of your stature, you're making the modus operandi of a village borehole committee look like AMAZON. Sort it out before I start generating power from sheer annoyance. I'm boiling with rage right now. Fridge mmetugeuzia kabati😡👹. Yours in darkness, Maxwell M Mbae.

Kumbe everyone loves travelling sio Ruto na Kindiki tu😂😂 I totally understand why the Institution of Surveyors of Kenya is appealing to court to allow a constitutional irregularity (mandatory membership) to comtinue even after the high court struck it down. LSK probably makes 4 times as much

A few facts about Ebola 1. Ebola cannot spread as much as Covid. With Ebola, by the time you're contagious enough to spread it, you're too sick to move around. Thread

5. The most dangerous spreader of Ebola isn't a living person walking around. It's a dead body. Funeral rituals involving touching the corpse cause huge numbers of infections. Viral load after death is extremely high.

6. Being sick enough to spread Ebola means being too sick to move. That's why Ebola causes localized outbreaks, not pandemics. COVID spreads invisibly. Ebola announces itself loudly, violently, and then traps its victims in bed.

Damn!!🥲, I've come across this story of a Kenyan surveyor Timothy Kinyua Nyaga who lost his leg in a KPLC substation electrocution while doing survey work. Surveyors in Kenya are locked🔓 in a trap of impossible licensing objectives so that they end up working under a few licensed surveyors for the rest of their lives. There's only 128 active licensed surveyors in Kenya. Now, this case reveals a potential legal risk we’re subjected to. I wonder what would have happened had the respondents brought up the issue of his licensing status 🤔 . Kenya Power could have alleged illegality of the contract or even tried to paint him as a quack to assert his inability to adhere to safety procedures. This is why I keep saying that the nonsense of professionals working under other professionals MUST come to an end. Every qualified person should be able to practice independently.
A Nakuru court awarded a 36-year-old surveyor KSh 7 million in damages after he lost his left leg and suffered severe burns from an electrocution at a Kenya Power substation. The court held KPLC and his employer jointly liable for failing to provide a safe work environment.

There's only 175 licensed surveyors in Kenya. 47 of those are inactive. But 200,000 title deeds will be produced in 90 days in Mombasa alone. So Kenyans, who is surveying your land?
At Mama Ngina Drive in Mombasa County, we issued more than 33,000 title deeds to Coast residents. We are now processing an additional 200,000 title deeds in different parts of the Coast, which will be delivered within the next 90 days, benefiting more than one million residents. Our goal is to ensure that residents are no longer squatters, but legitimate landowners with a place they can proudly call home. We are ending years of suffering and freeing them from the mercy of absentee landlords. The Coast land question now has an answer.

If a young Kenyan geospatial professional can single handedly build a platform like sirkal.co.ke, tracking Kenya's entire national budget, debt, procurement, county finances, and development projects since 2013, just imagine what fully funded geospatial data hubs in every county could do for this country🤔 We are talking real time fiscal transparency, evidence based planning and accountability at scale. But here is the problem. Kenya does not fully appreciate GIS. There is no legislation or regulatory framework recognizing geospatial professionals. The old wazees who control the related profession remain fixated on traditional land surveying while the world has moved to spatial data science, web mapping and automated analytics. I understand why an old mzee who cannot drag an Excel formula down a column would be scared at the prospect of licensing young, tech savvy professionals to work independently. #EndGatekeepingKe #LetUsWork @OleItumbi @HusseinMohamedg @WilliamsRuto

The Meru culture is evolving so fast. From kutafutiwa bwana na wazazi to kutafutiwa bwana na your son. Oh boy!
"Wakikureject sijui shida yako iko wapi?" A young boy advises his single mother That he will take her out husband-hunting. He even picks her outfit He should take of the trouser and socks then put on a dress. Weuh 🤣 🤣 🤣

Let me give you some advice. If you are building anything that will cost you more than 1 million Kenya shillings, please hire professionals. Please please am begging you. Hold your ear like this.👂Stop being the architect and structural engineer of your own building. There is more mathematics that goes into what you see than you think. Now some of you have beautiful houses with paint that is peeling. Some of you have bathrooms where water does not drain into the hole#. Some of you have business buildings where the support beam is right in the middle blocking the doorway. Some of you have rental apartments where I cannot pack a car even with magic. Some of you have staircases that are designed like a death trap. Some of you have toilets that bring all the dirt and smell back into the room. Please hire professionals. An architect, a structural engineer, a quantity surveyor, a professional plumber not an apprentice, a professional electrician not kawaya. Stop spending too much money building rubbish. In any case most of you end up spending more than those who hire professionals. You go to Karen you find very poorly constructed houses you wonder surely, land costs 80 million here, are you completely unable to hire a professional or you just think its a waste of money? I am a lawyer. But there is no day I will ever represent myself in court or in drafting a contract. I hire a third eye. The individual must not be a relative or a friend doing me a favour. He or she must do a cutthroat straight perfect job and get paid reasonably for it.

Look at the people five years ahead of you in your current career. If you don't like what you see in their eyes, their health, or their families, you are looking at your own future.

Akon’s wife, Tomeka Thiam, filed a divorce to part ways after 29 years of marriage and demanded €100m as compensation. The court handling the case only found $10k in Akon’s account, as the singer’s wealth is sitting comfortably in his mother’s account.

I was told, very confidently: “You just need to follow the proper channels.” So I did. Thoroughly, Professionally, Persistently. This was me trying to raise concerns about gatekeeping in Kenya’s surveying profession and barriers that have ensured only 175 surveyors are licensed in the whole country. Apparently, this is what “following the proper channels” looks like: Thread 1/14

28. Visited media houses: • Royal Media → Escorted outside the premises and asked to wait outside the gate. Waited anyway. Met an editor on the street with his crew, hurriedly walking somewhere else and briefed him. @citizentvkenya Mimi sio Al Shabab jamani. Next time, be professional. • Nation Media → Warm reception. Promised to help Lakini overall, I did not like the experience for other reasons. • Boxraft Media (Kenyans.co.ke) → Interviewed and Promised to follow up. 13/14
