Meru University of Science and Technology, in partnership with Tukuze Afrika Foundation, successfully organized an Innovators’ Bootcamp and Exhibition at the university, bringing together secondary school students from across Meru County.
The event aimed to empower young people through STEM education, innovation, mentorship, and entrepreneurship. The RICE initiative creates opportunities for students to develop practical solutions to real-life community challenges by exposing them to emerging technologies and hands on skills such as robotics, artificial intelligence, drone technology, prototyping, and 3D printing.
Through mentorship programs, innovation incubation, and collaboration with educators and industry experts, the initiative supports students in transforming classroom ideas into impactful and sustainable innovations. It also nurtures leadership, creativity, and critical problem solving skills among the youth.
Speaking during the event, Prof. Amos Omamo,PhD, encouraged students to join Meru University of Science and Technology, highlighting the university’s strong commitment to STEM-based training, research, and innovation driven education.
