We offer 1-1 #tutoring in #English and #Maths with our cognitive coaches. Each coach is experienced in preparing pupils for the #11Plus exams; and modelling and developing #metacognition, equipping each child with a toolkit to accelerate progress.
Working Together is an important skill to develop as we grow older. It is a Habit of Mind that will support children's ability to learn and interact with others in the classroom, and later in the workplace.

#Metacognition is understanding our brains. We teach chdrn tools to put their ideas on paper. Thinking frames free up space in the #brain, help deepen learning and provide chdrn space to explore new ideas. Metacognitively aware chdrn are #confident and #successful.
Carol Dweck coined the term #GROWTHMINDSET, describing it as the ability to succeed through hard work and dedication. A key term associated with it is the word #YET - "I can't do it, yet!" We may not be able to do something now but it does not mean we will never be able to do it.
At Meta Prep, as an #onlineschool, our teachers are trained to make the most that #technology has to offer. #Pupils login from home and interact through Zoom. Lessons are fun and children build a rapport with their #tutors, enjoying their time and learning lots in the process.
Our #brain controls our body, allows us to think, be passionate and excited, learn new things. If we understand how our brain works and its capacity for learning, we can thrive.

Ever found it difficult to know where to start writing?
Start to describe the setting. Breakdown what you can see and use your senses to come up with creative adjectives. These can be used to develop an engrossing story w/o overloading the brain. Words will be there to be used.

What word would you invent to add to the dictionary? This is one example of a question that might be asked in an interview, although all interviews are different and children cannot rote learn answers to questions.
Interviewers are previous Heads or Deputy Heads of schools or departments, all with lots of experience of the interview process. They will conduct a short mock interview and then provide feedback, both verbally and written.
