Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Rev. Jesse L. Jackson Sr. Rev. Jesse L. Jackson Sr. lived a life that changed the moral direction of America. He stood at the crossroads of faith, courage, and action, carrying forward the unfinished work of the civil rights movement with a voice that refused to let the nation grow comfortable with injustice. From his work alongside Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to his decades of public witness on behalf of the poor, the excluded, and the forgotten, Jesse Jackson made it clear that equality was not a slogan, it was a responsibility. His life was a powerful reminder that real leadership does not simply speak about hope, it demands sacrifice to make hope real. His legacy reaches far beyond marches and speeches. Rev. Jackson helped build institutions, shape national conversations, and expand the possibilities of American democracy through Operation PUSH, the Rainbow Coalition, and his historic presidential campaigns. He gave millions of people language for their dignity and a renewed belief that they mattered, that their vote mattered, that their voice mattered. He did not wait for permission to challenge systems of inequality, and because of that, generations of leaders, activists, and everyday citizens found the courage to rise, speak, and organize. As we celebrate the life and legacy of Rev. Jesse L. Jackson Sr., we honor more than a civil rights icon, we honor a builder of bridges, a fighter for justice, and an ambassador of hope. His message still echoes in every struggle for voting rights, economic fairness, human dignity, and unity across lines that too often divide us. Though his voice is now at rest, the movement he helped shape still lives on in all who choose courage over silence and service over comfort. Rev. Jackson’s legacy will endure because he taught the world a truth that time cannot erase: when people stand together with faith and purpose, history can be changed. #KeepHopeAlive because #IAmSomebody #UnitedWeStand #WeThePeople

Trump is tanking the economy. Inflation is up 3.8%. Families are cutting back on groceries.  Meanwhile, Trump sits in the Oval Office doing whatever the hell this is.

🚨THIS IS HISTORIC! Mayor Zohran Mamdani just announced he has brought NYC’s $12 billion budget deficit… TO ZERO!!! And he did it while funding parks, libraries, safer streets and investing in public housing. This is what real leadership looks like.

Mockler: I just want to address the absurd reframing that I heard here one second ago, this idea that Donald Trump is willing to take some political hits, as if this is all some intentional strategy on his part…

PabloReports: Ted Cruz called you a parasite and disparaged your work as a bartender. AOC: It’s not a secret the disdain Ted Cruz has for people who work working-class jobs. It’s not a secret what he thinks of the waitresses, the line cooks—he thinks we’re less than him. He thinks that because he has a Harvard degree and has never scrubbed a table that it makes him better than someone who has actually had to work for a living. I think it’s funny that he’s been taking a government paycheck for 23 years but has the audacity to criticize someone who has come from a family that had to work their way up and earn their place here.

Referring to the highest-ranking Democrat in the House — who is also a Black man — using white supremacist, slavery-era language is NOT acceptable. Full stop. The lows this Congress continues to sink to are historic. Some people are determined to try and drag us backwards through both their rhetoric and legislation, but the reality is WE ARE NOT GOING. If folks actually knew their history, they’d remember the Confederates lost — and will keep losing.

Holy shit... Trump says he doesn’t even think about Americans’ financial situation on the SAME DAY we get a brutal inflation report and gas price spikes.

This should not be a partisan issue — but Republicans have made it one. This is the same party that claims to stand for law and order, transparency, and protecting women and girls. But they couldn’t even be bothered to show up and hear directly from Epstein survivors. Their complicity is loud — but their absence was even louder. To every survivor: thank you for continuing to speak out. Our systems have failed you but we hear you, we believe you, and we will keep fighting until you get the justice you deserve.

When did we normalize this? When did it become okay for a president to tell a female reporter she’s a ‘dumb person’ for asking a totally legitimate question about his contradictory answers? Was there a specific date and time it become okay? Normal? Normalized?
TRUMP: We have a ballroom that's under budget. It's going up right here. I've doubled the size of it because we obviously need that. REPORTER: The price doubled TRUMP: I doubled the size of it, you dumb person. You are not a smart person.

I’m sure it doesn’t help that Trump withdrew the U.S. from the WHO on day one. Then his administration laid off 2,400 CDC workers, including all the civilian staff in the Vessel Sanitation Program, the exact team responsible for inspecting cruise ships and responding to outbreaks. This country is being run like it was bought out by private equity stripped for parts to be sold off in liquidation.

I’m sorry, but I’m not gonna be nicer about this. Neocon boomers are mortgaging my generations future by amassing trillions in debt, turning America into a pariah on the global stage, and getting our troops killed for another failing war. I have to watch these neocons lie about the state of this war on TV every single day. Then, the moment I push back and assertively ask, “hey, what’s the actual goal here?” I have a legion of neocon boomers telling me I should know my place. Or I should wait my turn to talk with the grown ups. Fuck that, genuinely. I’m not claiming to have all of the answers or be all knowing. But young people deserve a seat at the table to fight for our interests as well. 95% of media is made up of boomers in suits who created these problems, and being nicer isn’t going to fix them.
