The Carney Liberals did not win a majority government through a general election or today's by-elections. Instead, it was won through backroom deals with politicians who betrayed the people who voted for them. While the Prime Minister spent the year on this cynical power grab, he has doubled the deficit, and given Canada the worst grocery prices and housing costs in the G7. Liberals expect Canadians to give up, get complacent and go away, so Carney can have total power without any accountability. That will not happen. Our country and its people are worth fighting for. We will continue to fight for people to afford homes, food and fuel. We will continue to fight for safety in our streets. We will continue to fight for our resource workers and soldiers. I will continue to lead that fight every day and in every way in Parliament, across the country and in the next election, when Canadians will reclaim the country we know and love.

Canada's Manufacturing Sector is in free fall. But on April 1st, the Government raised the industrial carbon tax to $110 per tonne, 16% increase. THIS IS INSANE! Higher industrial carbon taxes raise production costs, which are ultimately passed on to Canadians through higher prices and reduced investment.

Will BC follow in their footsteps? I, for one, doubt it.

“There is no business case” for East Coast LNG - Justin Trudeau, immediately following Russia’s full scale invasion of Ukraine. This must stand as one of the most flagrantly stupid remarks ever made by a Canadian Prime Minister. Everyone in politics says dumb things from time to time. I sure did. The problem is that this dumb statement reflected government policy, based on an astonishing blend of energy, economic, and geopolitical illiteracy. Mark Carney was elected on the premise of being literate on energy, the economy, and geopolitics. On the promise of getting big things done “faster than ever,” of making Canada “an energy superpower,” of becoming the “fastest growing economy in the G7.” So get on with it already. Eastern Canadian provinces are increasingly positive on gas production and exports, eg Nova Scotia lifting its ridiculous gas production ban. There is a growing shift back to energy realism in Quebec politics. Enough consultations, meetings, and triangulating energy politics. Embrace East Coast LNG as a moon shot project, with war time urgency. Prove that Canada can once again do big things quickly, while making Canada wealthier, and helping the world achieve energy security.

Wow, that's quite an achievement to have even lower GDP growth over the last decade than Germany. And Germany did almost everything humanly possible wrong. Has Canada already joined the European Union, or did they stagnate all by themselves?
