Once upon a time, a mean man in a dress called Sophie Molly tried to initiate a boycott of a small, English, female-run bookshop called
@newsfromnowhere. The reason for the boycott? They sold a book that he didn’t like! Boohoo, poor little Sophie and his big feelings. However, Sophie didn’t have quite the influence he liked to think he did.
Internet T3RF Hazel Appleyard discovered his little boycott scheme and was quite disgusted to see him try to damage the reputation of a bookstore for such a petty reason. Hazel decided she would also be petty, and stage an anti-boycott, where she encouraged all of her lovely friends to follow and support the bookstore, just to spite the evil Sophie.
Women (and men, of course!) from around the world answered Hazel’s call for help. They rejoiced in supporting a female-run bookshop, and being able to spite a mean baddie at the same time.
Within 16 hours, the bookshop had been inundated with new orders from all around the world, and had gained 6000 new followers! Thats 200 more followers than the evil Sophie has altogether!
Hazel and friends rejoiced, for the power of women coming together had triumphed over the evil men in dresses once again. Petty love had trumped petty hate, and the world was a happier place for it.
And they all lived happily ever after.
