NBA player Brandon Clarke was charged with "trafficking" in Arkansas for possessing kratom. Not fentanyl. Not heroin. Kratom. A plant used by millions of Americans. Just weeks later, Clarke tragically passed away in Los Angeles at only 29 years old. And almost immediately, some people began connecting the two stories as if the cause of death had already been determined.
