The chairman of the party should not be insulting the intelligence of Republican voters. A debate was promised and these ridiculous criteria are being used to renege on that promise and to engineer a preferred outcome. Why not just take 90 minutes, find a tv partner, and let the candidates mix it up? The only reason why you wouldn’t is if the party hierarchy is serving outside interests instead of the best interests of the voters.

The Wall Street Journal defending bloated local budgets and opposing property tax relief for Florida homeowners. Florida hasn‘t raised the homestead exemption outright since 1980 and the last partial exemption increase was enacted almost 20 years ago. Both times people made similar arguments against property tax relief. Although the ballot measure passed by the Legislature differs from my proposal, it is the best opportunity Floridians have had in years to obtain meaningful relief. It is not “progressive”; it applies to all FL homesteads, modest to extravagant.

Just days after news broke that the National Defense Authorization Act for next year would virtually merge the US and Israeli militaries, we now are hearing that the Intelligence Authorization Act is doing the same thing with the US Intelligence Community! Introduced by Sen. Tom Cotton, the provision would rip open our nation's secrets and hand them over to a foreign country - one that has just been accused of ramping up its spying on us! I couldn’t agree more. In fact, we could get this done with my Six Penny Plan. All we would have to do is cut 6 cents from every dollar the federal government spends. In 5 years, we’d have a balanced budget.

The FL Senate passed a medical freedom bill that did that, but the FL House refused to take it up. So it never made it to my desk. I was ready to sign it.
