Bitte teilen: Das ist Julian Herwig. Er ist Vater der 11-jährigen Louisa, die im April 2022 vom Fahrer eines 218 PS starken Audis in Berlin getötet wurde. Obwohl die Ampel seit 24 Sek. auf Rot stand, überfuhr er mit 65-70 km/h die Kreuzung und rammte das Mädchen. Letzte Woche wurde der Fahrer zu 3 Jahren auf Bewährung verurteilt. Ein Auto fahren darf er ab April wieder. Absolut unverständlich, während Klimaaktivisten für 8 Monate ins Gefängnis gehen. Im Tagesspiegel gibt der Vater jetzt ein Interview. Er fühle sich verraten von der Justiz, kann das Urteil in keiner Weise nachvollziehen und beklagt die strukturell niedrigen Strafen für tötende Autofahrer. Eigentlich will er in Berufung gehen, doch die Prozesskosten belaufen sich auf ca. 5000-15.000 Euro, für die er das Risiko trägt. Dafür hat er jetzt eine Website angelegt, worüber ihm via Paypal gespendet werden kann. I really don't much like it when orgs treat contractors as second-class citizens. Everybody's working to make a better product, and it's really a bad idea to think in terms of throwaway people. The payment arrangements (which is the only real difference from FTEs) are irrelevant.

Any management that wants you to give them predictions so they can plan is living in la-la land. That's the opposite of agility. Slapping agile-ish words on waterfall does not give you agility.

Architecture reviews are, I think, valuable. Hardly anybody does that, though (and there's no point if you have no will to make changes). A code review—where you're looking at only a small bit of code in isolation—is not nearly so useful.
