Last year NHS trusts paid out £457 million to private companies in interest alone - equivalent to 15,000 nurses' salaries.

We shouldn’t let this be buried by other news today. Foodbank charity Trussell Trust says that the need for foodbanks has outstripped donations for the first time. It has distributed 46% more emergency food parcels in August and September than at the same time in 2021.

New Chancellor, @Jeremy_Hunt acted today to stabilise the markets but will he extend this stability to families on low incomes?

All Western countries whose citizens are in Evin prison must immediately call out Islamic Republic and make them accountable.
Citizens from UK, Us, Sweden, Germany, France, Belgium and other countries are held at Evin. The lives of many Iranian prisoners is in danger.

Horrified to see the scenes from #Evin prison tonight where hundreds of political prisoners are being held unjustly. Now a fire is raging and gunshots are being heard. I am urging the @ICRC to utilize all possible avenues to protect the prisoners in Iran.

Rishi Sunak is on the Rich List with his household’s £730 million fortune.
A 3% tax on his wealth over £10m would recoup £22 million for the taxpayer. That would lift 22,000 families out of poverty.
