You could not be more wrong or off-base. Cities don't want rec leagues other than a token 10-game, 6-week schedule. They build mega parks to host weekend tournaments for the revenue they bring in. Rec barely breaks even cost-wise.

Just think: If every kid that plays travel ball, played league ball instead, they would have the same level of competition that they get in travel ball and wouldn’t have to spend thousands traveling and playing in tournaments.

When Courtney Deifel took the Arkansas softball job, many people said "why would anyone want that?" Her response? "Why would anyone not want it?" Tonight, she showed everyone why. Congrats, Coach Deifel. Well deserved.

How about O-KC?
Question: how do folks via being a fan of certain NBA teams in Kansas City? In other words, is there a team you should be a fan of in KC? Or do you just pick? And don’t say the Kings I was -15 years old when they were here.

Legion ball is making a very nice comeback in Arkansas. I just read that close to 100 high school players tried out for teams in Fort Smith. They have 3 teams and could have had 6 if there were more coaches.
Middle America families stuck in the biggest Ponzi scheme of all time that is travel baseball. Baseball needs Legion Ball played at high school fields in t-shirts and gray pants more than ever right now.

Go through the process and the season. He is under contract. Play through the contract and the season, then evaluate whether he's worth a heavy incentive/conduct-based contract moving forward. Good WRs in the upcoming draft if he's not.
Chiefs fans: it’s been a couple days since we got the Rashee Rice news. How do you feel 48 hours later? Where do you, as a fan, stand with Rice?

He won't get an extension from the Chiefs, and doubtful he'll get a big contract from any team other than the Cowboys.
I’m seeing some say this. I truly have no idea with any certainty what the Chiefs will do. My guess is they won’t cut him, but they might have a difficult time being convinced that he deserves a second contract. I’d be surprised if he is with the Chiefs 12 months from now.

It happens quite a lot. I know of an 11yo who threw at least 130 last weekend, including 100 in a game. Add to that 7-8 warmup pitches between innings and the number goes to near 200 for the weekend. For a $5 ring.
It happened again. An 11-year-old threw more than 160 pitches over a weekend because adults decided winning mattered more than arm care. #Youth baseball has a responsibility to protect kids — not sacrifice their future for Sunday trophies. philadelphiabaseballreview.c…

Chiefs need to part ways with Rashee Rice. Can't be trusted. He's in line for a $100 million contract next season and he can't pass a drug test.
BREAKING: Chiefs WR Rashee Rice violated his probation after testing positive for marijuana. Rice has been ordered to serve 30 days in jail, meaning he will miss #Chiefs OTAs & Mandatory Mini-Camp. Via @MattFosterTV & @KSHB41

Pretty sure the SEC/Big 10 would be OK in softball/baseball/track.
Iowa State AD Jamie Pollard on SEC/Big Ten threatening to break away to form its own league: “Let them break away. We should break away from them. Let them go, but they have to go in all their sports & see how fun it is to play baseball, softball & track when it’s just the 20 of you. That’s what I think we should do, but I'm one person & that’s probably a little more draconian. That’s how I feel about it. Like, let’s quit talking about it. Quit threatening. Go do it. But if you’re going to do it, you don’t get to just do it in football & then keep all your other sports w/us. No, take them all. See how fun it is.”

Louds outs are still outs. I do not subscribe to exit velo, launch angle, barrel percentage mumbo-jumbo. Runs are what win games and 0-4's can't score runs. I'm old school, where every out and every run is precious.

I can't say you're wrong on this. Makes a lot of sense.
If I’m a high school hitter in the new “5 to play 5” eligibility era we’re about to enter in to in college baseball, this would be my path… Find a JUCO where I can PLAY for two years and get hundreds of at bats…and all of my entry level course work done…then… Transfer to a four year school, and still have THREE full seasons to play, and get my bachelors degree. In the “5 to play 5” era, going somewhere that you won’t play really doesn’t make sense…unless it’s your dream school.
