@USArmy helicopter pilots please help.
Jan 28, 2008 my Platoon was hit by a complex ambush initiated by a deep bury IED. I lost five men in that blast, and we were completely surrounded by enemy. Taking fire from every direction, and I wasn’t leaving. The enemy would desecrate American Soldiers bodies, and those savages were not touching my boys!
So we stood our ground and fought for four and half hours.
Weather was crap, and no air was up this day, only a QRF on standby.
That QRF air was a Kiawa pilot call sign
Thug 1-4
That dude and his wingman ran out, jumped in their birds, and came in hot. They fought like mad, and saved our asses. He went back to reload three times, and the last time his rotors were so shot up he had to switch birds. Which he did, and he came back to the fight.
I never got to thank him.
If you know who THUG 1-4 was please help me contact him, so I can say thank you. 🙏
He would have been on FOB Diamondback January 2008.
Thank you
