The #moth survey across @greatfen this week produced some stunning results, including: the impressive Clifden Nonpareil (Blue Underwing), yet another L-album Wainscot, a magnificent male Great Silver Water Beetle, and plenty of the stunning Merveille du Jour.

Dragons abound at the @GreatFen! It's fantastic to record yet another site at the Fen for the newly arrived #SouthernMigrantHawker #dragonfly. This stunning blue male #insect is one of those #colonising the #reedbeds at the #Fen.

August means @BCT_NBMP Waterway Surveys… join me on my survey of the river at Titchmarsh Nature Reserve. The survey is monitoring Daubentons Bats and I’ll be back to do the follow up survey at the end of the month! 🦇

The #river #GreatOuse is in great form this #summer, with #dragonflies in abundance; from #Emperors laying eggs and #NorfolkHawkers on the prowl, to #BandedDemoiselles on the wing and #RedEyedDamselflies on the lily pads. Look out for #FloweringRush and young #GreatCrestedGrebes.
