Does anyone else find it odd how - for years - conservatives called environmentalists hair-shirt wearing communists… But now, how fast conservatives are to ignore the economics on renewable energy? 🤔

If you've walked past The Forum site recently, you may have seen it looking greener - the green wall installation is under way!🌿 🌳 With 600 square metres of plants, the wall will be equivalent to 32 trees in the city centre - producing oxygen & absorbing carbon.

EU : Storm Katherine combined with ample solar power has resulted in zero or negative prices in almost every European market tomorrow. And we're only in April! The pricing is expected to become even more extreme as we get sunnier days. In fact, the impact of Storm Katherine will result in negative prices in the GB market for a continuous 15 hours tomorrow, leading to the suspension of CfDs in a number of offshore wind-farms and self-curtailment of these wind-farms. Only three northern zones of Norway and Poland have significantly positive prices in the middle of tomorrow, while Macedonian and Italy are just above zero. Stay tuned for more updates! #StormKatherine #SolarPower #RenewableEnergy #EuropeanMarket #EnergyPrices ^PH

Just look at the difference between Renewables and nuclear ...
The transformation of the world's power sector means clean sources are set to meet all the increase in global electricity demand in the next 3 years This is mainly due to huge growth in renewables, but also nuclear's rebound to a historic high in 2025 → iea.li/4aeWpWS

🤯 The level of sophistication of the XZ attack is very impressive! I tried to make sense of the analysis in a single page (which was quite complicated)! I hope it helps to make sense of the information out there. Please treat the information "as is" while the analysis progresses! 🧐 #infosec #xz

#Renewable Capacity Statistics 2024: 2023 set new record in #renewables deployment in the power sector - reaching 3 870 Gigawatts (GW) globally. Renewables accounted for 86% of all new global power capacity additions. Astonishing ! And #nuclear nowhere ... #climate #ClimateEmergency #ClimateCrisis #ClimateAction #ClimateActionNow irena.org/News/pressreleases…

Incorrect. It has nothing to do with engines. The term engineer predates engines by many years. It comes from “ingenuity”- to contrive, to bring about, to create. Engineers are technical artists. People with vision. People who better society. People who solve problems 🧑‍🔧👩‍🔧👨🏻‍🔧 😍
Replying to @TheEvEngineer
It’s the other way round.. engineers were those who operated and serviced engines. How it’s because an academic term I don’t know!

When you write an article explaining in great detail why common and persistent myths about heat pumps are either false or incomplete and the comments are basically a list of the myths I painstakingly addressed in the article...
MEGA FACTCHECK Heat pumps are the “central technology in the global transition to secure and sustainable heating” says @IEA. But heat pumps still face relentless hostile media coverage. I comprehensively debunked 18 heat pump myths in @CarbonBrief👇 carbonbrief.org/factcheck-18…

Dear @ofgem WTAF are you playing at? Electricity standing charges were around 15p a day 8 years ago (2016) annual cost £55. June 2023 - 43p - £157 Late 2023 - 56p - £204 April 2024 - 67p - £245 This is a 500% increase!! 🤬 And 50% over the past year. You are supposed to be protecting us against profiteering . You are not doing your job are you? Get a grip. 😡

Latin American power grids are exceptionally clean relative to the rest of the world. - Uruguay runs on 100% renewables (wind is the biggest component of the mix) - Brazil is now above 90% renewables - Chile, a world leader in grid-scale solar, is at 63% renewables Others too

Deart @X isn't it time to stop the "Nudes in bio" bot replies to virtually every tweet. Its the same text every time - so not beyond wit and wisdom. Somewhat offensive to see it in a reply to bereavement payments.

In terms of share of global electricity output, coal peaked in 1905. Hydro peaked 100 years ago. Oil before the, well, oil crisis. Nuclear peaked in the 1990s and gas, maybe, has just passed its peak. And then there is the yellow line...

These figures are from a recent WhatCar? real world EV test, where they drove EV’s around Millbrook until they conked out. Advertising Standards should take a look… as no one else could get away with such nonsense in their advertising. 🤷🏼‍♂️
