In fact, algae has been a problem since the water supply was switched from municipal water to the Tidal Basin. Municipal water is from the Potomac River but is chlorinated, treated with chloramine and periodically flushed with chlorine. Trump used the pool contractor for Mar-a-Lago to apply an Old Glory Blue coating to the pool. The Administration claims a nano bubbler ozonification system will fix the algae problem. That's unlikely. Algae appeared 5 days after the pool was refilled.
