At the State-Level
#WorldEnvironmentDay celebration in Bhubaneswar, organised by the
#Odisha Forest, Environment & Climate Change Department, OFSDP-II proudly showcased how forest communities are turning conservation into opportunity and change on the ground.
Hon’ble Minister Shri Ganesh Ram Singhkhuntia marked the occasion by participating in the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” plantation drive and inaugurating the Departmental exhibition. He also visited the
#OFSDP-II stall, where he viewed a wide range of products prepared by members of Vana Surakhya Samitis and appreciated their efforts in promoting a greener, more self-reliant future.
The exhibition showcased sustainable use of forest resources in creating new avenues of livelihoods, empowering women, strengthening local economies, and promoting conservation-led development.
Under OFSDP-II, six Multi-Product Clusters (MPCs) have been established, under which six multi-product companies are currently operational in Odisha. They are supporting value addition and improving market linkages for forest-based enterprises. Building on this progress, preparations are underway to establish three more MPCs in the coming days.
Shri Bhaskar Jyoti Sarma, Principal Secretary, FE&CC, Dr. K. Murugeshan, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests & HoFF, and Shri G. Rajesh, Additional PCCF (Nodal) & Director, OFSDP-II, among others, attended the event.
