Wild that Ford is being placed at the centre of all this Team Canada approach as chair of the Council of the Federation, given the state of affairs in Ontario and his place within the rank of premiers. Yes, Ontario is the largest province, but I didn't have this on a bingo card.

In Brantford today with @HarveyBischof, meeting parents, education workers—and students—about the state of our schools: leaky roofs, lead pipes, sweltering heat, freezing cold. Today’s FAO report says 37% of schools need repairs. If Ford doesn’t get his act together, that’ll skyrocket to 75%, and the repair backlog will balloon to $22B. This is about choices—and Doug Ford’s choices are setting Ontario’s students back a generation.

Ontario Transportation Minister Prabmeet Sarkaria’s opinion piece on bike lanes reads like someone who drives through Toronto rather than someone who lives and spends time here. All arguments he presents with respect to cycling in Toronto are easily debunked. Spending at businesses went up after Bloor Street bike lanes were put in, Toronto Emergency Services have not raised any concerns about delays due to bike lanes, and Bikeshare Toronto averaged more than 170,000 rides per month in winter 2023. The minister’s clear lack of understanding of local bike lane conditions illustrates why he should focus on provincial issues rather than municipal ones. Norm Di Pasquale, Toronto
