For the stupids in Congress that are trying to make this comparison.
In 2023, under President Biden’s administration, 53 unpaid researchers and student volunteers were granted access to certain IRS data systems. This access was provided for specific research purposes and was subject to strict oversight and confidentiality agreements. The data accessed by these individuals were anonymized to protect taxpayer identities, ensuring that personal information remained confidential.
In contrast, DOGE under convicted felon’s administration, has extensive access to sensitive IRS systems, including the Integrated Data Retrieval System (IDRS), which contains detailed personal and financial information of taxpayers.
Their unsupervised access allows for for misuse of personal data and the unprecedented nature of granting such broad access to a political appointee.
Both instances involved granting access to IRS data, the scope, purpose, and oversight differed significantly. The 53 researchers under President Biden had limited, supervised, anonymized access for academic purposes, whereas DOGE’s unrestricted access under President adjudicated sexual abuser grants broader access to detailed personal taxpayer information.
Even you must be able to see the difference
