(Now with working alt text) Of the paths local to me, about a three quarters *would* be accessibly to my chair but most of these otherwise accessible paths are deliberately blocked.

I feels like I may actually have all my ducks in a row re: an adventure I have planned for the next few days. This makes me deeply uneasy. I am waiting for something to go wrong and put me back on familiar ground.

Might well not be on here much/at all for a few days. Or I might be. Depends on a whole host of different factors.

Travelling on the train, this is what a #wheelchair user has to face - and that's after 5 other bikes were removed by the riders upon instruction by the conductor. I'm still stuck halfway in the aisle!

Today, the Campaign has published an open letter to @Heidi_Labour regarding the news that the HS2 train fleet contract is to be reviewed. The opportunity to apply 8 years of learning on accessibility since the trains were originally specified MUST be taken.

After being subjected to repeated nonsense by the automated systems here, am I really back?

Why are you allowing inaccessible vehicles to compete with - often, and in some areas always - wheelchair accessible taxis?

The exciting part about this sighting wasn't just seeing this woodpecker, it was hearing what the tree contained - a nest. Photo taken from some distance with 18x zoom as I did not want to bother them.

WANDERER LIVES! Emotional day - when the original machine now reborn into this one suffered a catastrophic failure at the end of last summer, it was as if I'd had my wings clipped. Now drinking cider and listening to - fittingly enough - Mahler's "Resurrection" symphony.

A young all-terrain wheelchair's is not ridden at the start of it's training, but instead lead with a halter. Only once it has learned to accept commands will it be taught to accept the saddle. Note a little of the juvenile red colour remains; an adult's plumage is all silver.

Project Resurgam update - the good news is that Wanderer has moved again under its own power for the first time since autumn. That bad news is that it goes backwards. This is easily fixable, but I do not have the energy to fix it right now.

@2e0rtb hate to pester you but things are dire here. I did a check on just the electrics not long ago and everything was fine. Now, with the machine assembled, it gives me a "JSM Joystick Error" and refuses to do anything. I've continuity tested both R-Net leads and think (ctd)

one of them may be to blame, as one appears to have a continuity failure, specifically between the top left pins if you look at the connector head on with the more widely spaced pins at the bottom. Is that a likely scenario? I've tried swapping the cables over but resultss (ctd)

Should I start by buying a couple of new male-male R-Net leads?

All but one of the physically taxing jobs needed to get Wanderer MkII into testing are now done, as the steering and front axle assembly are on. Just the seat to go. Also the less taxing jobs of installing the end bulkheads, fitting the wheels and wiring everything in.

Another couple of days pushing as hard as today and 1 of 2 things will happen. Either 1) I finish the main build stage of Project Resurgam and get to start using my resurrected 4x4 wheelchair or 2) I snap entirely in half and spend the rest of my days in two separate pieces.

Exhausting day today. Rear motors are on, rear battery is in. Clearances were - by design - extremely tight, so both were very difficult jobs, especially as each battery weighs 28kg. Friend assisting me took pictures, but I didn't, so will upload some as and when he sends me them

Just need to finalise the front left half-axle, assemble the steering system, finalise the front bulkhead, wire in the motors and master power wiring, fit the wheels then put the seat on and I can get it into testing. Fitting the wheels may mean machining some custom spacers.

Anyone have any idea what this type of connector is called? There are two male-male leads with these on my wheelchair electrics and I'd like to be able to get spare cables if necessary. It's clearly a commercial off the shelf part as Fieldmaster's own wiring is abysmal.

@2e0rtb you seem to know your cables, any idea?
