What Is Handshake? Handshake is a decentralized naming system that changes how internet domain names work.

Today, most domain names are controlled by central authorities. You don’t truly own them you rent them, follow their rules, and risk losing them if policies change.

Handshake removes the middleman. It lets individuals own internet names directly, without relying on a central company or government.

In simple terms: Handshake lets you truly own your name on the internet. #OwnTheDot #Handshake #DigitalIdentity #hns

Well the last of my $hns just departed NameBase and with that, a little bit of history... I had a lot of fun learning how to open, bid, watch, until reveal.. Lots of coffee and alcohol was consumed trying to win names.. I genuinely had fun.. Now it’s onto the next chapter of handshakes evolution #NameBase | #Handshake | #OwnTheDot

Starmer's plans for child-locked devices is a Trojan horse for digital ID
🆔Starmer's plans for child-locked devices is a Trojan horse for digital ID "The only way to escape Starmer’s Great British Firewall and get regular internet access is to undergo a digital ID check on the device to register yourself as an adult user. Convenient, perhaps, for a Prime Minister who has failed to get a digital ID system through the front door" - @silkiecarlo

Zero knowledge proof.. big ✅
Trump admin puts U.K. on notice they oppose outright bans on social media for under 16s. They prefer mandating parental controls. They say if age bans are put in place, companies should use "zero-knowledge proof" (company gets yes/no with no private data). uk.usembassy.gov/u-s-governm…

In football, every player is known by their name. Every team is recognized by its name. Identity is the foundation of the game. The same principle applies online. The Handshake naming protocol gives people true ownership of their digital identity providing names that are decentralized, secure, and controlled by their owner, not a third party. Privacy and identity are pivotal in scoring goals, on the field and on the web. ⚽ Own the Name ⚽ Own the Rules ⚽ Own the Dot 🏆 #OwnTheDot #DigitalIdentity #Web3 #WorldCup

Handshake was built to fight exactly this kind of overreach. It decentralizes internet naming and gives people true ownership of (your name/your voice) on a blockchain no government can seize or censor. When states demand every device scan private content, the only real defense is infrastructure they don’t control. Handshake.org changes that #OwnTheDot

Our statement on the UK government’s demand that all content on all devices sold or used in the country be scanned, on the presumption of nudity, using a dystopian combination of age verification and content scanning. This proposal will not safeguard children. It endangers us all. signal.org/blog/pdfs/2026-06…

🚨 "KEYS CAN OPEN DOORS. THEY CAN ALSO LOCK THEM." That was Ben Swann's warning as we discussed Britain's proposed Digital ID system on America Now. Supporters call it modernisation. Critics call it the foundation of something far more dangerous. What happens when your identity, finances, movement and access to services become connected to a single digital system? Britain may be finding out first. America should pay attention. @BenSwann_ @Truth_InMedia
