Lots of banging noises outside. I find my Romanian neighbours have rebuilt my fence which had fallen down a while ago. When I offered money/beer as gratitude, they said it was better to do nice things rather than expect something. Bloody foreigners coming here & building fences

The alternatives suggested in the original article are ridiculous - more likely to worry a patient, especially as they are largely meaningless ters if you are not a qualified healthcare professional. Why not start by banning terms such as battle, fight and jourmey

"Renaming cancer simply to obfuscate the diagnosis from the patient, in order to reduce anxiety, surely smacks of paternalism and a lack of candour. I say keep the word but educate your patient" #BMJresponse bmj.com/content/362/bmj.k352…

I am ashamed to be a registrant under this regime. And I am angry that the CEO did not have the guts to face the media on the day the report was published. And I am angry that the Council/NEDs etc allowed this to happen. Not just one mistake, a toxic culture was created x.com/CllrDaly/status/996644…

I would be ashamed were I still a member of the nursing and membership council. The profession I left at all levels, the NMC being just one arm, has been losing its way for decades. the leadership are a self serving elite contemptuous of real clinicians and the patients we serve

And by not fit for purpose I also mean in their duty to their members. Our son and others died in a maternity unit that was found to be requiring "investment and improvement". The midwives were under tremendous pressure due to shortages which resulted in a lack or training.

@nmcnews failed 2 protect me from a corrupt process. They failed 2 protect my colleagues public.Nurses have a code of conduct. It states we must comply with investigations.I would suggest every trained nurse involved with my case who has covered up should be referred

The NMC are not fit for purpose. An investigation in 2017 found that substandard care contributed to the deaths of 6 babies from 2012 to 2017. To compound these failings Scotland has no independent health regulator or HSIB. dailyrecord.co.uk/news/local…
