I'm not particularly crazy about using AI in place of, say, hiring artists, but I would be more understanding of that kind of AI use over making digital people say stupid shit to make your point. It also seems to happen only on one end of the political spectrum. I wonder why*.
Column by @Justin_Ling on AI-generated political ads: “It tilts us deeper into the muck of terminally online unreal nonsense. It is politics by and for the denizens of Twitter, where real life is increasingly warped by technology.” thestar.com/opinion/star-col… via @TorontoStar

Why wouldn’t we just do this all the time?
Toronto has almost no faith in its switches or signals. This man is here all day managing this switch which they either didn’t fix, or can’t rely on…failure means nobody can get out of the FIFA exclusion zone. Why don’t we do this everyday? Or just get more reliable switches?

Seeing someone price out their meals and put, "Baked Potato ($30)" and I just need you to understand that, no, you are not paying $30 for baked potatoes. That is not a real thing that is happening.

There is a real grocery price crisis happening, they don't need to make up fake numbers for our current grocery prices to actually be scandalous

Also it feels like our commentary on grocery profits is like. Insane. "There is an incredibly shallow profit margin here" "$10 billion dollars in theft happening!" "Oh btw another quarter another record in grocery profits."

I get the sense that the people who claim this is an 80/20 issue (I'm sure it's a real term but seems to be wielded exclusively by people who can't see beyond themselves and think all their issues are the 80) don't even seem to take public transit and instead are propagandized by

I’m old-fashioned in the sense that I don’t believe the Premier of Ontario should be someone who looks around at people in distress on the subway car imagining all the ways he would punish them

bad faith actors pretending that 50% of all TTC trains have been turned into homeless shelters or something. I dunno man, I see people in distress on the TTC and my first instinct isn't that they should go fuck themselves. I'd much prefer government work to solve the issues at

their root, and not simply criminalize inconvenience or something that offends the eyes. Do we think shuffling "Undesirables" (keep in mind a lot of these people treat being too poor to afford a car as a similar level of dysfunction) is solving the problem? Obviously not.

I can't believe we're really getting "Trillionaire (singular I guess) funds social programs" takes from the same people saying we shouldn't have said social programs, very cool
