Parent to two children in a neighborhood school. Not part of a school system, teachers' union, charter, Sacks, or anything, really.

CPS Cuts that Don't Affect the Classroom 1) $21M: Eliminate "The Network" Miami Dade has no bureaucracy like "The Network." Principals there report to the central office & receive more autonomy. And in Chicago we have LSC's who can recommend removal of a bad principal. 2/5

Show me a student-centered classroom and I’ll show you the 3 to 4 students it’s centered around.

Find school board members that'll focus on student learning. Not ones who just want a stepping stone to launch their political career.

Good accurate reporting.
From me and @BoardRuleChi: Petition challenges could leave many voters with just one choice on the ballot in Chicago's school board races this year. In 2024, CTU was behind many challenges. This year it's Urban Center, a pro-school choice organization. chalkbeat.org/chicago/2026/0…

From a good candidate for Chicago School Board President.
Parents expect their kids to be safe and treated with dignity and respect in school. Any effort to make the system more fair needs to start from this simple fact: No one who harms a child belongs in a school.

Glad we're all pro-democracy and pro-ballot access now. . Where can candidates send their invoices for expenses incurred fighting petition challenges two years ago?
Somebody tell Michael Sacks & Becky Carroll that bill wasn’t ours in Springfield. We good over here. In fact, if there are candidates being challenged by the billionaire…call us bc we’d like to help you remain on the ballot. For real. 1/

Teacher with history of disciplinary issues pushes a 3rd grader. CPS understandably tries to fire. @CTULocal1 objects and their shameless allies overturn the firing of the teacher. Bookmark this next time Stacy Davis Gates or Brandon Johnson say they care about students.

Good. For city of Chicago, better Hammond than Arlington Heights. More tourists will stay and spend in Chicago since Hammond has fewer nice hotel options than northwest suburbs.
NEW: The Chicago Bears voted to move ahead with a Hammond stadium — a major step toward leaving Illinois. The vote by the team's board of directors is the first it's taken, but doesn't mean the Indiana plan is a done deal. In @chicagotribune: chicagotribune.com/2026/06/0…

Better yet, ask all candidates for school board district seats whether there is any unqualified board president candidate. Let him take down the whole ctu slate.
Keep Hilario on the ballot. Let the voters decide. A candidate backed by the deeply unpopular CTU and facing numerous allegations from women deserves to be judged in public. His candidacy is a slap in the face to the women who came forward, and the CTU's support of him is yet another stain on the union's reputation.

My newest follower @Isaiah4CPS is running for school board against "incumbent" Anusha Thotakura, who was rejected by voters in 2024 but was subsequently appointed by Mayor Johnson. Also in race: Brenda Lee Anderson. Not sure whether Brenda or Isaiah is the charters' choice.

More people on ballot means more splitting of the anti-ctu vote. And yet this time CTU didn't petition challenge in races with just two candidates (most with a CTU-backed vs a charter-backed) which had to have been an oversight.

In light of Callais, and in the 1st opportunity Chicagoans hv to elect a full school board, CTU wants to see more ppl on the ballot, not less. We're going to offer legal support to candidates who don't hv lawyers bc CTU is going to expand civic engagement unlike billionaires. 2/

We now know that board president candidate @jennicuster's petitions were not challenged. Had she been the one trying (but failing) to change the law about petition challenges, surely someone would have challenged her petitions, no? Another @stacydavisgates @CTULocal1 lie?
Strange to write this many words about "rules" while inventing facts. CTU hasn't endorsed a candidate and didn't write this bill. If you've got questions about it, ask Custer, not us.

@CTULocal1 may have forgotten to challenge school board petitions! (they are usually the masters of the petition challenge) Caveat: not sure this is the complete list. cboeprod.blob.core.usgovclou… details below... 1/6

2A: Ally of wacky rich guy Bruce Leon challenges the other non-CTU candidate in hopes of getting a 1-on-1 vs CTU candidate. 4B & 8A: only 1 candidate, charter advocates Rosenfeld & Gutierrez are unchallenged. So that's two seats that don't go to CTU. 5/6

6B: only possible bad news. 2 candidates, not 100% sure which one is CTU; last time bitter loser Andre Smith (charters endorsed him last time) challenges the Biggs-endorsed Neal while Brittany Kimble (charter? CTU? not sure) is unchallenged. 6/6
