#inktober2023 11) Wander. The astonishing Happisburgh footprints . Made c900,000 years ago by a group of adults & (wonderfully) children walking along mudflats on what is now Norfolk. These ephemeral traces of humans are the earliest footprints outside Africa. Mind blowing.
š š #Footmarks is published in the US today! For those that donāt know, it is a book about archaeology and movement, footprints, paths, roads, crossing lands and seas. A celebration of pilgrims and travellers and migrants.

An example of a Palaeolithic artefact found on the beach after completion of the Sandscaping project at Walcott.
