LKCMedicine's Cancer Discovery & Regenerative Medicine Programme faculty Asst Prof Andrea Pavesi together with colleagues used a ‘library’ of CAR T-cell designs to discover a next-generation treatment aimed at IL-13Rα2, a protein often found on glioblastoma cells. By screening this library in both lab-grown ‘mini-brain tumors’ and animal models, they identified a chimeric receptor that displayed strong tumor-killing abilities and long-term persistence. These results open the door to more effective, tailored CAR T-cell therapies for aggressive brain cancers. Read more in this link: jitc.bmj.com/content/13/2/e0…

LKCMedicine Asst Profs Andrea Pavesi and Giulia Adriani, both engineered a miniature, in vitro, liver-tumor model, where blood vessels form naturally from human cells. By mimicking the tumor environment, this system allows us to test how chemotherapy and T-cell immunotherapy affect solid tumors. This work include contributions from the LKCMedicine's Cancer Discovery & Regenerative Medicine Programme, shed light on how tumor vasculature influences drug delivery and immune-cell infiltration, paving the way for more effective treatments. This new study from @PavesiLab @GuccioneLab @bertoletti_lab and many more from Singapore, shows that G9a/GLP inhibitors increase the cytotoxicity of TCR-engineered T cells.
