No disrespect to Linus Torvalds, but this guy is the greatest geek alive 🫡 Created UNIX in 1971 when he was 28 years old. Created Go in 2009 when he was 66 years old. He also developed the B programming language (which led to C), created UTF-8 encoding (making international text possible online), and designed essential tools like grep that developers still rely on daily. He also helped with the development of Multics (that led to UNIX), Plan 9 from Bell Labs and Inferno operating systems. That's 4 operating systems in total... Most people don't even use these many OS. Pretty impressive resume, right? And it's a shame that many people, even the ones in the IT and tech industry, don't know him. Ken Thompson.... Remember the name 🙏

This stone tablet from 1800-1600 BC shows that ancient Babylonians were able to approximate the square root of two with 99.9999% accuracy. How did they do it? Read on:

The Collatz conjecture, also called the 3n 1 problem, is a simple unsolved math puzzle proposed by Lothar Collatz in 1937. The rule: Start with any positive integer n. → If n is even, divide it by 2 (n/2). → If n is odd, multiply by 3 and add 1 (3n 1). → Repeat the process with the new number. The conjecture: No matter what positive integer you start with, the sequence will eventually reach 1 (and then loop: 1 → 4 → 2 → 1...). It's been verified for trillions of numbers but remains unproven for all cases.

I am forced to use windows since last year and after 18 happy years using Linux and OSX I am hating every hour of this retarded "OS" experience. I used to like win98-win2k but now windows is the opposite of what an OS should be.

I'm not a fan of the C programming language but I give credit where credits due: The "tends towards" operator --> is a programming language design masterpiece.
