Well worth seven minutes of your time.
This is the best summary of the current geopolitical situation I have seen. Sir Alex Younger was head of MI6 between 2014 and 2020. Really worth watching.

This week, Hydro President and CEO @jennifer1973 and Vice Presidents Walter Parsons and Michael Ladha, had the opportunity to participate in the House of Assembly debate on the MOU with Quebec to terminate and replace the 1969 Upper Churchill Contract, develop Gull Island and expand capacity of the Churchill Falls plant. The robust dialogue, as well as the thoughtful and challenging questions, provided opportunity to share the accurate and detailed information regarding this historic MOU. The opportunity was welcome, the discourse was important. The future of this province is bright and our organization is proud to help lead the way. We encourage members of the public to continue with us in the dialogue by attending one of the four upcoming community webinars. Please sign up to attend here: ourchapter.ca/webinars/

This historic session has provided extraordinary insight and transparency on the MOU. Hear Minister Parsons highlight how different this debate is compared to the non-debate on Muskrat Falls ⬇️

Newfoundland and Labrador’s historic agreement with Quebec will unlock the full benefits of the Churchill River. After three days of considerable information being presented to the House of Assembly by the negotiating team and industry experts, the Provincial Government, NDP and independent members have agreed that the Consumer Advocate will lead a panel to provide strong, independent oversight as we finalize agreements that will create thousands of jobs, encourage economic development and bring more than $225 billion to the province.

We have learned from past mistakes. Our new transformative MOU with Quebec is nothing like Muskrat Falls. It has the power to transform our province for generations to come. We are moving forward on an agreement that will benefit all Newfoundlanders and Labradorians including bringing billions of dollars into the province that can be invested on such things as new schools, hospitals, and roads, as well as invite new economic benefits.
