❝Equal opportunity goes beyond securing placement, it extends to fair remuneration, safe and dignified working conditions, adequate supervision, mental health support, and protection from exploitation. As we reflect on the future of internship training in Uganda, it is essential that the policy framework is firmly anchored in equality, fairness, inclusion, and non-discrimination. As an institution mandated to promote equal opportunities and affirmative action, we view this discussion through a clear equity lens, where equal opportunity considerations are central, not peripheral. Where differential treatment of medical interns exists, it must be grounded in objective, transparent, and justifiable criteria.❞ ~@EOC_UG #PayAllMedicalInterns

📌 𝐒𝐀𝐕𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄! For many women and girls in Uganda’s island communities, accessing justice means navigating long distances by boat, limited court services, and delays in prosecution that can discourage survivors from seeking redress. This webinar will explore the prosecutorial and judicial gaps affecting Buvuma and Namayingo and discuss practical solutions for strengthening justice delivery in hard-to-reach island communities. Supported by @IcelandinUganda. 📅 25th June 2026 ⏰ 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM #IcelandProject

According to @StatisticsUg, Uganda has 45.9M people. Women are slightly more than half. Youth aged 18–30 are nearly a quarter. Over 5.5M Ugandans live with a disability. So, are reserved seats in Parliament turning numbers into real power? This Wednesday at 7:30PM on the 57th #CEPAConvo, we ask whether special interest representation is improving laws, budgets, oversight and services — or simply increasing presence without influence. 📍Join us here: twitter.com/i/spaces/1RJZzzV… 🎙️ Panelists: @Turya_osborn | @Ochieno | @KanyesigyeMerc1 Moderator: @timothy_aine #CEPAProgramming

Today, I take on the mandate of Minister of ICT and National Guidance, I do so with humility and a clear sense of duty. I thank H.E. @KagutaMuseveni for the trust. To the staff of the Ministry, thank you for the work done so far. I come not to replace, but to build. My focus will be 3-fold: Digital Transformation where we shall accelerate e-government, broadband access and ICT as a driver of jobs for our youth. Cybersecurity and Data Protection. We need to make Uganda’s digital space safe and trusted for citizens and investors. National Guidance. We shall use ICT to unite, inform and mobilize Ugandans around our shared values and development agenda. I pledge to serve with integrity, consult widely and deliver results
