This list of different nationalities that make up the NHS workforce is quite extraordinary. Huge thanks to everyone who has dedicated their lives to caring for others.

Why I regret buying a Ford Model T: punctures every other day; the roads are only fit for horses; you can only get petrol at a chemist's shop; people keep walking on the 'public' highway right in front of me!
Jonathan Miller presents his case against going green: ‘I bought an electric car and wish I hadn’t’. Read on, then subscribe from as little as £1 a week.

Freedom to Strike for a proper living wage and working conditions, anyone? Rish!?
Then Brexit is totally fatuous. Do we have elections on NATO, WTO etc? Would we vote for CPTPP functionaries? Do Germany, France, Spain etc. not consider themselves "full" democracies? Can any country "change everything at elections"?

The opportunity cost for this project includes about 5 miles of child-safe, people-friendly cycle track. You're not doing the climate as much good as you think with this.
Breaking ground on Hulls 1st permeable road. We are truly a city embracing water and building resilience for the future. #floodaware #partnerships #resilience #suds

Starting with media stories about "drivers" versus "Cyclists" we really need to be calling it out as Person-(in a car) versus Person-(on a bike), neither has more privilege, but one has extra responsibility not to do harm.
Fascinating and important: the car-shaped hole in our minds where independent thought should be.

What's the @PureGym position on the apparently able bodied colonizing disabled parking spots? Two such actors stopped in the Disabled spots at York, Clifton Moor at 4:45 today, while there are free spots available at the back of the lot.

Jaw-Jaw in Kyiv is better than the Beached Whale in the Seychelles look, for constituents who can be fooled by Performative Cosplay.
I don’t understand why the backbench MP for Uxbridge and South Ruislip is in Kyiv meeting the Ukrainian government. He “pledges help” - by what means exactly?

Funded by whose tax dollars?
Feds create new office dedicated to cleaning up abandoned oil and gas wells. Louisiana has more than 4,600 of these 'orphan' wells: nola.com/news/environment/ne…

Well it's an MO that has served Republican politicians for decades. There's no downside as long as there is a continuous supply of Rubes. Which apparently there is.
A lot of media people are going to find their careers in ruins in the postwar environment, when it becomes clear how many of them either willingly lied or incompetently passed on untruths to the witless public.

The "greatest country on earth" does have Universal Health Care, by definition. It may not be the country that keeps awarding itself that title, however.
Why does the Greatest Country on Earth 🇺🇸 not have universal healthcare for its people?

But, and I'm really curious about this: what is the result if a horse with 64 chromosomes and a modern human with 23 chromosomes interbreed?
The concept of "species" is a construct...

So for every two 'good' billionaires, there are 637 *bad* billionaires: is that what you're saying?

A billionaire swept in and saved America. Then another billionaire stepped up to save Twitter. Imagine how great it will be to have them both in charge at the same time. The future is bright!

This is laudable, but the present UK experience is that even with the Rail Lines renationalized, the passenger Rail companies still have such focus on the bottom line over actual, you know, service to the public, that there are many failing horror stories.
My story today in CounterPunch.

@LNER is the best of the bunch, and surprise, surprise it has been (re-)re-nationalized.
Arms sales to Oil producing countries is how we pay for the Oil. Another reason we need to accelerate towards sustainable transport solutions. So that we *don't have to* sell arms to murderous regimes.
🇸🇦💷🇬🇧 This is the reason the British establishment supports the Saudi Arabian dictatorship—and its catastrophic war on Yemen. It needs to stop. Now.

The current train strikes are symptomatic of a rail system that prioritises profit above the wellbeing of both workers and passengers. For a more reliable, resilient, and affordable railway, it's time to take it into public hands. tribunemag.co.uk/2022/12/rai…

Just read it and I feel ashamed that this is what we are doing to ourselves. Yes, 12 years of Tory austerity and truly disastrous decisions. But the people voted three times: in 2015, 2017 and 2019 for their own immiseration. When will we get smart about Voting?
Are they paid more, or less than the nurses? If more, why don't Nurses join the Military Medics; if less, why aren't they striking like every other profession with a legitimate pay grievance?

It's not fair to say the US spends all that money on "health care". Much of the Public's health spend goes on Insurer profits, Insurer's bullshit jobs, Insurer's stock buybacks, and Health Workers' student loans.

The United States spends far more per-person on health care than any other large wealthy country, yet its residents die an average of at least 4 years younger. Our updated life-expectancy comparisons w/@PetersonCHealth tell the story: healthsystemtracker.org/char…
How does Rug-Wearer-in-Chief @realDonaldTrump get to send tweets 222 characters longer than "The Tweet Limit"? Something is Rotten.
