Presented by @QUBelfast, @SIUC, and @UAlberta authors, "Cell-Free Integrated Sensing and Communication: Principles, Advances, and Future Directions" examines how #CFISAC can improve coverage, #reliability, and efficiency while highlighting key challenges and opportunities ahead.
What if future #wireless networks could communicate and sense their surroundings simultaneously? Cell-free integrated sensing and communication (#CFISAC) could help make it possible. Learn more in @ProceedingsIEEE's latest issue and discover what's next: bit.ly/ProceedingsIEEE_CF–…
Last week's @ProceedingsIEEE "Road to 6G" #webinar featured exceptional presentations by top researchers and experts on what lies ahead for #6G. If you didn't make it to the live session, the free on-demand replay is now available at our @YouTube channel: bit.ly/4sWXifv
We're now moving into the Q&A portion of today's @ProceedingsIEEE "Road to #6G" #webinar. Thank you to our speakers today for their interesting and informative presentations, and to everyone who attended. An on-demand replay will be available soon.
What advances are we seeing in advanced #MIMO? @NUSingapore's Rui Zhang shares new developments such as holographic MIMO, and dynamic #metasurface antennas. #6G
What applications might we see with #IRS? @NUSingapore's Rui Zhang details a number of new uses for IRS, including #UAVs, #satellite communications, and more. He also explores the approaces to #standardization of #6G and its practical deployment.
Here's a helpful comparison of #IRS versus #MassiveMIMO, courtesy of @NUSingapore's Rui Zhang. He notes that Massive #MIMO was primarily used in #5G, but there is a need to scale. He also shares a look at new challenges introduced by IRS. #6G
Our final speaker is @NUSingapore's Rui Zhang, who will be sharing highlights of his paper on #IntelligentSurfaces-empowered #wireless networks, and how it will impact #6G. He also shares the history of #IRS and #RIS, and an overview of what they are.
How can you apply FEEL to enhance #6G network design? @sjtu1896's Meixia Tao shares three case studies showing how to solve design challenges. She also has a peek into future directions that FEEL might take.
To help address these challenges, @sjtu1896's Meixia Tao shares that her paper explores the move from a data-oriented to a task-oriented paradigm, and offers a look at two case studies illustrating this. #6G
According to @sjtu1896's Meixia Tao, there are still key challenges to be addressed when deploying FEEL. The first is the communications overhead. Another issue is data heterogeneity, and the last is resource heterogeneity. #6G
What role will FEEL play in #6G? @sjtu1896's Meixia Tao says the vision for 6G is to be #AI native. This brings in two perspectives, as you can see here and read more about in her paper.
We're now hearing from @sjtu1896's Meixia Tao, who is discussing Federated #EdgeLearning (also called "FEEL") for #6G. She notes that FEEL has a advantages over #cloud-based learning - for example, enhanced #DataPrivacy and being more context aware.
One important thing to note is the differences between reliability, robustness, and resilience. Reliability was a key #5G focus, but resilience is a different thing altogether. #6G
