Sadly my Dad, Alan Maynard died this afternoon. He’d shown great courage and patience through a long illness. He died in York District Hospital where he worked for many years. We are all grateful for the great care he received from the NHS he loved and worked so hard to support.

So good that. female Cabinet members paid less than male counterparts! How many make do as millionaires ? x.com/michaellcrick/status/9…

Update. I hadn't realised the Attorney General gets a Cabinet minister's salary, so the average pay for the 19 men attending Cabinet is roughly Β£142,608; for the 9 women it is Β£129,315 x.com/MichaelLCrick/status/9…

The different systems of health/NHS and local authority social care are inefficient but how is Wonder Boy Hunt going to make it better? Time for mega evidence free redisorganisation?

No wonder this letter was leaked. And look at the hopeless response proposed on page 2: (1) ask businesses to lobby the Commission and (2) co-ordinate Govt depts. What did Mr. Davis think Brexit would involve - oh yes, he thought we'd be able to get a trade deal with Germany!!! x.com/PickardJE/status/95050…

Here's the leaked letter from Davis to May about the threat to British jobs from EU "no deal" preparations

.@Jeremy_Hunt not only persuaded the PM to keep him at health, but he also persuaded her to give him full charge of social care for the elderly. Extraordinary. Makes one wonder who's in charge

So 2 people she wanted to move stayed, 2 people she wanted to stay in Cabinet left, 2 people got appointed to the same job in ten minutes, & 2 people got extra words in their titles. Quite a reshuffle x.com/samcoatestimes/status/…

Hearing both Greg Clark and Jeremy Hunt dug in today, scuppering Theresa May's Plan A for the reshuffle.
