Durbin: The timing of Mr. Gaetz's resignation from the house raises serious questions about the contents of the house ethics committee report. We cannot allow this information from a bipartisan investigation to be hidden from the American people.

Johnson two days ago: "The Speaker of the House is not involved in that. Can't be involved in that." Johnson today: "I'm going to strongly request that the Ethics Committee not issue the report because that is not the way we do things in the House."
“The rules of the House have always been that a former member is beyond the jurisdiction of the Ethics Committee,” Johnson said, when asked if the public has a right to see the report, given Gaetz will serve as Trump’s top attorney. “And so I don't think that's relevant.”

This is a great and really important thread from Deeva documenting all of the ways in which the Kindred episode only underscores the need for *more* reforms in federal judicial workplaces—and is not by any means a vindication of the existing policies and procedures.
I’ve been promising a longer thread about Judge Kindred’s resignation, the Order about his misconduct, and ongoing advocacy efforts and reforms to reporting procedures for employees facing misconduct in the federal judiciary. So here goes. 1/ npr.org/2024/07/09/g-s1-8991…

Trump, in April '22, keynoted a Heritage dinner as it began work on Project 2025: “This is a great group & they’re going to lay the groundwork & detail plans for exactly what our movement will do ... when the American people give us a colossal mandate to save America."

I call BS. My expertise doesn’t matter at all to Wikipedia, a primary source of *misinformation* about the day-care abuse cases of the 1980s and early 1990s. All that Wikipedia does on those cases is spread myths. Wikipedia’s high horse is beyond rich. “Non-biased info.”😂
