I joined with the wonderful @pathwithanr and @IPPR for this analysis of voter turnout in the UK elections, and our findings were pretty stark. Not only was turnout historically low but the gaps between different kinds of places in the UK are clear. 🧵theguardian.com/politics/art…

Overall, we* find that trust in "representative" institutions has been declining by ~10 p.p. among democracies since 1990, but trust in "implementing" institutions has been rising!
