The Secretary of State *must* ensure that assisted suicide is available. He is no under such duty, as far as I know, to provide palliative care to everyone that needs it.

Less than 3 weeks before it's due to be debated, Kim Leadbeater MP has finally published the text of her assisted suicide bill. It's 38 pages long, has 43 clauses and 6 schedules. MPs will have a maximum of five hours to debate it. bills.parliament.uk/bills/37…

Improving the quality of life for care residents with dementia The NIHR supported the development of a training programme for care home staff to improve the quality of life for people with dementia. The iWHELD programme provided weekly online coaching sessions to care home staff delivering personalised care to encourage meaningful social interactions. It led to a drop in the use of sedative medications and residents showed reduced signs of agitation. The 16-week trial included staff in 149 residential homes in the UK caring for more than 700 people. The study was part-funded by the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre and the NIHR Exeter Biomedical Research Centre, and supported by the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration South West Peninsula.

it's a bit disingenious to say that most NHS contracted GPs are private practices; the contract is very restrictive; the private work is limited to stuff NHS doesn't fund(eg insurance reports), we don't have private patients, our hours/workload/ is heavily held to contract/..

It is hard to imagine any #ICJ case in which a respondent state has done more than #Israel to generate additional evidence against it while the case is pending. Serbia, maybe. But I think developments over the past 10 months surpass that.

As the Knesset votes to ban #UNRWA, recall the #ICJ Order of 28 March 2024 that required Israel to ensure, in full co-operation with the UN, humanitarian aid and basic services. This is a vote in defiance of that obligation (which the judge appointed by Israel also supported).
