Remember when Elon Musk told investors that Twitter would 5x its revenue to $28 billion by 2028 and more than 4x its users to nearly 1 billion? Well, that's no where near happening.
Instead he's made even loftier predictions for a much larger company that will go public tomm. We took a look at the skeptics' views of the SpaceX IPO.
Elon Musk has slammed Anthropic and Google for building "woke" AI for years. He's accused Google's Larry Page of being on a path toward building AI that will destroy humanity.
So why is SpaceX suddenly willing to do billion dollar deals to rent their compute to these companies?
Did he never actually believe what said about those companies?
Or is he ok providing services to companies supposedly building "woke" and "evil" AI because they will provide billions of dollars in potential revenue ahead of an IPO? Gotta wonder...
Four months ago: "Frankly, I don't think there is anything you can do to escape the inevitable irony of Anthropic being Misanthropic."
Today: SpaceX is now accepting $1.25 billion a month in revenue from Anthropic.
Interesting to watch Twitter founder Jack Dorsey publicly protest against racial bias in policing before agreeing to support Twitterβs takeover by a man who believes that βcertain ethnic minorities are imprisoned moreβ¦ because they commit more crimeβ
As the world's richest man goes about selling himself and his company ahead of a record-breaking IPO that may make him a trillionaire, it's interesting to see he has time to boost posts meant to divide, and devoid of any research or context.
There's been a good amount of coverage of this, but I still don't think the average person understands how big of a deal this is.
If you have a retirement account or 401k, you will likely end up supporting SpaceX's stock whether you like it or not.

Not sure why this warrants its own story given Goldman is the lead underwriter on SpaceX's IPO and is responsible for selling this thing.

gonna sound like a homer here (and sure you can quibble with the NYT's coverage or argue it isn't for everyone) but to say it's failing is just... wrong? look at the sub numbers.
it's funny to watch these ppl join the fp and just get a sudden need to sound like they're doing something so innovative
As Milei's government readies a golden passport program to given citizenship to those that invest in Argentina, one billionaire has already laid down roots in the country: Peter Thiel.
The Arg gov has already considered offering Thiel residency or citizenship.
Born in Germany and raised in the US, Thiel already has US citizenship and obtained New Zealand citizenship in 2011. I reported he was in the process of applying for a Maltese passport in 2022.
Argentina may be his latest backup plan.

It's interesting to watch big accounts on Musk's X develop large followings partly by being sycophantic to Musk, and then to lose their clout as soon as they do one thing that displeases him.

This account in particular spent years building a following by aggregating reporting, often without citation, with a bent favoring Musk and his worldview. And now he's bit the hand that feeds.
