New statement from Scott Pelley: “Last month, 60 Minutes lost its DNA when our entire senior leadership and two of our best on-air correspondents were cruelly fired without cause. Good people were silenced because they stood up for our audience. They stood for fairness against the forces of political bias; they stood for professionalism against chaos.   For my part, new management has instructed me to inject falsehoods and bias into a politically sensitive story. I’ve been told to include assertions that are unverified. To date, in every case, I have managed to ignore these instructions or refuse them. Recently, politicians have been invited to choose correspondents for interviews on the broadcast. Giving politicians control over 60 Minutes interviews is not how this is done. Finally, incompetence and unprofessionalism in the new management have wreaked havoc. In a case involving one of my stories, the entire program came within 19 minutes of not getting on the air at all.   At 60 Minutes, we have fought harder than anyone knows to save the program that became an American icon. We owed that to our millions of viewers. I am deeply moved by the thousands of wishes we have received to “keep up the good fight.” Most of the men and women of CBS News are still in that fight. But now the collapse of values at the top has become untenable. The leadership of 60 Minutes is no longer recognizable. The principles I hold dear are gone, and so I must leave as well.”

To all of those whining about artist's dropping out of the Freedom250 concert: Ten years ago, Congress established the America 250 foundation to plan our nation's 250th birthday celebration and they've been working on it since. Trump fired them all and set up his own Freedom 250 celebration focused only on highlighting MAGA and his accomplishments. These artists were told they were performing at the first only to discover they would be appearing at the second.

Here’s the deal for those confused: “America 250” is the bipartisan celebration committee. “Freedom 250” is a Trump organization celebrating him masquerading as a celebration of America. The concert was Freedom 250. Hence the cancellations

They didn't want to award the Capitol Police a medal or a plaque but want to reward the people who orchestrated and took part in the violence that injured me and ended my career. In the name of national reconciliation, they pardoned the same rioters who attacked us and now being rewarded for the violence they inflicted on us the officers. They are trying to make the lives of the rioters whole or better than before they assaulted us. Yet to the officers, no apology, no compensation, no acknowledgment of the bravery and sacrifice we made to protect “each of your representatives” regardless of what party they belong. Why did we risk our lives for then? What a betrayal this is to us and to the rule of law days after “police week”.

More than 140 officers were injured defending the Capitol on January 6th. They waited six years for the plaque in their honor to be hung in the Capitol. They watched as Donald Trump pardoned every single one of their assailants. Some of them can no longer work and cannot even get disability benefits. But Donald Trump has set aside nearly $2 BILLION of your taxpayer money to pay the criminals who assaulted them. It’s a punch in the face to every police officer in this country who puts his or her life on the line to protect us. I support Officers Daniel Hodges and Harry Dunn in their lawsuit to stop this outrageous scheme.

Before my generation even cared about Donald Trump politically, we were watching Thomas Massie and Ron Paul clips on YouTube, like this one from 2015, where Thomas Massie voted to force a debate on Obama sending troops to Iraq and Syria The reality is that they hate Massie because he has a longer track record of being more consistent and more America First than they are This also explains the generational divide on Massie, because younger generations have been able to track these votes with new media while everyone else was waiting to hear what Sean Hannity had to say about him

Then he flew her home on the same FBI jet. Same week: a “VIP snorkel” at the underwater tomb of 900 sailors and Marines at Pearl Harbor. The pattern from the same NYT investigation is now public. Four SWAT agents and two SUVs guarding his girlfriend in Nashville. The detail estimated at $1 million a year. SWAT escorts to a hair appointment. An FBI official suggested a threat assessment to determine if any of it was justified. Patel berated him. A New York Times reporter wrote about the SWAT detail. The FBI opened an investigation into the reporter. The DOJ shut it down and called it retaliation. What is the FBI for when the FBI Director uses it as a personal concierge service and turns it on the people who notice?

The Thomas Massie primary is truly insane. We are looking at the most expensive U.S. House primary in history, with spending pushing toward $35 million. Massie's opponent, Ed Gallrein, has raised just $2 million on his own. The rest of the money, over $14 million, is coming from outside Super PACs who desperately want Massie gone. On top of that, Pete Hegseth is being deployed to Kentucky to campaign against him. Stephen Miller & Con Inc. have been on massive Twitter tirades attacking him. And there was a highly coordinated smear campaign of unfounded allegations launched this week by Con Inc. influencers. When the establishment is willing to spend $35M and go to these lengths to take one man down, it really makes you wonder why. Whether you like Massie or not, this election will determine whether or not we as voters actually have a voice anymore. If outside special-interest money can successfully buy a seat and sway an election like this, we have a serious, serious problem.

Voters of Kentucky’s 4th: Massie is the candidate who exposed the pedos. Gallrein is the candidate who is funded by the pedos. This is not a hard decision.

The fact that trump is going after Thomas Massie because of… the Epstein files (that trump himself promised to release in the campaign) and that the GOP is likely to go along with him, is astounding

There were only 4 of us, Republicans, that signed the discharge petition to force the vote to release the Epstein files. Thomas Massie, Nancy Mace, Lauren Boebert, and myself. Trump has come after us one by one ever since then. The President told Speaker Johnson not to allow the vote to happen, but we courageously went against the President and refused to budge and overrode the Speaker to force the vote on record. It was only when all Members of Congress had to vote on record did Republicans finally find their intestinal fortitude to do the right thing and vote YES to release the files. Until then, they were absurdly obedient to the President who was doing everything in his reign of terror to hold them back. Even now, all the files are still not released, and the Epstein class remains protected. Wars are being waged, the markets are being manipulated, and the average American is being driven further into ruin while the Epstein class reigns and has yet to face any accountability. I will never regret signing that discharge petition, refusing to back down, and resigning as I want nothing to do with a President and a Party that bows to the Epstein class.

If you have to explain a giant golden statue of a political leader that people came to praise isn’t a golden calf, you’re in trouble.
