Most primary care physicians report not feeling prepared to provide care for those living with dementia. šŸ‘©šŸ½ā€āš•ļø You can help change that. Ask Congress to enhance dementia trainings and education by supporting the bipartisan #AADAPTAct. bit.ly/3FHSK9S

Researchers have developed blood tests that can detect Alzheimer’s biomarkers in a simpler way than previous methods. But, this progress exceeds what Medicare can cover under current law. Tell Congress to support the bipartisan #ASAPAct to ensure access: bit.ly/442ieIq.

Thank you, @DanPatrick, for championing DPRIT and for standing with those impacted by dementia both in Texas and across the country. Our community is incredibly grateful for your support.
š—œš—–š—¬š— š—œ: š“š”šž š“š«š®šš” š€š›šØš®š š€š„š³š”šžš¢š¦šžš«ā€™š¬ š¢š§ š“šžš±ššš¬ I am very proud of Senate Bill 5, a bill I wrote last legislative session that established the Dementia Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (DPRIT). DPRIT is focused on Alzheimer’s research in Texas. Texas is #3 in the nation in Alzheimer’s diagnoses, and #2 in deaths related to Alzheimer’s disease. I took on this issue because I’ve seen the pain and suffering this terrible disease causes for our families. Alzheimer’s doesn’t just affect the person diagnosed; it affects the families who stand beside them. Hispanics have a higher risk of Alzheimer’s disease than the general population. We need to find out why. Of the 27 top counties in Texas for Alzheimer’s, 23 are on or near the border. I wasn’t looking to receive an award. But, last Monday, I was honored to accept the @alzassociation Humanitarian of the Year Award for my work to pass SB 5, which established DPRIT. Over 1,000 delegates were at the Alzheimer’s Association’s 2026 Advocacy Forum, with over 50 delegates from Texas. Because of DPRIT, Texas will be a national leader in Alzheimer’s research. I am proud of what we’re building together, right here at home. I want to thank former Speaker Tom Craddick for being my partner in the House in passing this momentous legislation, which commits $300 million per year for 10 years for Dementia research and prevention. Texas voters overwhelmingly approved the Constitutional Amendment creating DPRIT last year. #txlege

Thank you @SenatorAndyKim for highlighting the impact that dementia has on families across the country, including your own. We are grateful for your ongoing leadership on making the journey less challenging for others. #ENDALZ
June is Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month. Last year, my father was diagnosed with Alzheimer's dementia, and I’ve come to understand first-hand what it means to be a caregiver and to have your life turned upside down by this disease. That's why I'm committed to doing everything I can to support the millions of Americans with Alzheimer's, their families, and caregivers. It doesn’t have to be as hard as it is.

Thank you to ALL of our advocates who turned Capitol Hill purple this week. Because of your advocacy, the fight to #ENDALZ is stronger. And though our work is far from done, we have so much to be proud of. You don’t have to go to Washington, D.C., to make a difference. Take action from home by urging your members of Congress to support Medicare coverage of routine Alzheimer’s blood tests today. bit.ly/442ieIq #ASAPAct #alzforum

More than 7 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s, and that number is sadly predicted to rise to 13 million by 2050. I met with Nebraskans from the @alzassociation to discuss how we can better support those impacted by this terrible disease.
